Coachella was so peak in the early to mid 2000s. Gen Z just wouldn’t understand. My biggest regret in life was not going cross country to Cali with friends in 2007 to Coachella, but we did travel that summer to red rocks to see daft punk so whatever.
>>131304166Looks shitty
we used to have /mu/chella back in the day ...
>>131304183we still do
>>131304166This is just as good if not better
>>131304185what was last years lineup?
>>131304166I went from 2007-2010 and 2007-2009 was incredible. 2010 might’ve been the best lineup overall, but they had a lot of gate crashers that year so it was overcrowded and I think I had just finally gotten sick of it at that point. I believe it was one of the nights in 2008 that had Kraftwerk into Portishead into Prince. Best night of music of my life. This was the height of what I guess is now known as the Indie sleaze or Indie landfill era. I’ll always have a soft spot for it because no matter how poorly it’s aged, in that moment it did make for some awesome music festivals. Far superior to any movement or scene going on today.
>>131304190idk we had them this yr tho
>>131304183It's the best thing about this board.
>>131304166Imagine thinking beta male music is peak. I like both those headliners but they ain't peak anything except maybe art rock.
>>131304222The line 2 sub-headliners mog the headliners for each night.
>>131304188Didn’t Sabrina publicly call for every “goat-fucking sand-nigger” (her disgusting words, not mine) to be killed at Coachella this year? Thom Yorke would never…
>>131304196>>131304208okay i'll keep my eye out for the next one
>>131304222wtf is alpha male music then? unironic answer only please
>>131304193Op here. I don’t like the term “indie sleaze”. I was 19 in 2007 and my friends and I were just into alternative/punk music. I don’t like labels, and I think millennials rejected labels.
>>131304166>The EvensIan Mackaye played at Coachella one year? Damn, that's neat.
>>131304290Zep for one
>>131304188This is everything
>>131304166Desert Sessions played live!?
>>131304166I like Sparta but it's fucked up seeing them billed that high up on the Coachella line up. Especially ahead of future big bands like LCD Soundsystem and The Black Keys.
>>131304166No it was always fucking shit Fuck crapstonbury tooReading is the only acceptable or one ofBut nowadays doesn't really matter anymore
>>131304166> Q and Not U > Pretty girls make graves VGHH
>>131304166Francis must be getting a kick out of seeing Pixies as a headliner and Killers as the bottom tiny name. How tables have turned
>>131304181This. The flaming lips? no thank you
>>131304166I remember wanting to go to this exact Coachella but i'm from the East coast would have cost thousands just to travel and go. I never did see Kraftwerk, Stereolab or Air but got to see most of the other ones.
>>131304188karol g >>>>>>> kraftwerk any day of the week
>>131309360I'm from the East coast, i went that year, it cost around $1000 for the flight, hotel, and rental car for the weekend. You missed out. Kraftwerk was incredible.
>>131304166>bro it was so peak>n-no i never actually went to it...lol
>>131304406>store brand cream is alpha Get your test levels checked
>>131304406LZ was nerd shit to anyone born after the 60s. >OOOH BABY FRODO MAMAGet real.
2008 is when Coachella peaked
>>131304291It's a term to describe something that happened in the past, not a term from that period.
>>131309390No one except browns care about some random puta
>>131309966damn look how far down the bill deadmau5 is. he probably put on an amazing set
>>131304188How are the XX that high on the billing? It's not 2009.
>>131309966>Hot Chip>Kate Nash>Pendulum>Mark Ronson>Does It Offend You, Yeah?>Enter Shikari>Calvin HarrisWTF? Did they have British people on the staff of whoever puts the lineup together or something? This is all shit that was playing wall to wall on Radio 1 or hyped in NME at the time back then but completely irrelevant here.
>>131304181looks like a dream lineup compared to current Coachella
>>131310629It was still cool to be British back then.
>>131310629Hot Chip were not irrelevant in America in 2008. They got a lot of praise on pitchfork which did actually matter back then.
>>131304248
>>131305474The table that turned was a lazy Susan and he ate everything on it
>>131304290Bestial Warlust
>>131304166>LCD Soundsystem is a 6th linerDaaayyyymmmmmnnnn
>>131312847LCD Soundsystem was not that big like they are now, space x commercial ect. In the mid 2000s the only exposure to lcd soundsystem was probably /mu/, mtv2’s subterranean, MySpace, or pitchfork. I’m sure the least successful music magazines like spin or blender covered them.
>>131309604>>131309861You girls should have tea together
i wouldn't leave my house to see any of those bands
>>131314831You won’t leave your parents’ house period because you’re a loser shut-in
>>131315837Oh you think you're a comedian, huh?
>>131315873I just think you’re a clown; and you better fucking watch your mouth and show some respect to Belle and Sebastian
>>131315895I don't fucking know who Belle and Sebastian are but they sound like a couple of fuckin queermos!
>>131315903You’ve never heard of Belle & Sebastian? I’d ask you’ve been living under a rock, but it’s more likely that you’ve been too busy SUCKING COCK you fucking faggot
>>131315952No one called Sebastian is straight. Every man with that name is a fuckin fag. You listen to fag music you fag.
>>131316002Try typing this one out again, only this time, without a cock in your ass
