I kind of doubt Fergie did a cover also so I think you’re confusing it with either Gwen Stefani solo or No Doubt, I forget which it was. It was my first exposure to the song and I actually thought at the time that it was pretty good. I’ve revised my opinion since listening to the obviously far superior original though.

Even though it's the closest thing to an overplayed song that they have, I still never get tired of it. Fucking amazing 10/10 writing and production, and I love the 80's zoo gift shop aesthetic of the music video. Talk Talk may be the greatest band of all time.
