Morrissey said that he hated Black music, claiming that not only was it musically awful, but it was also escapist and had nothing to say.

But he also listed Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Frankie Valli, and the Righteous Brothers as his favorite artists.
Preferring white musicians who were heavily influenced by black music while disliking black music itself seems hypocritical, if not outright racist.
