New Mastodon album just dropped. What do we think?
>>131376886Hour 5 min album dropped 45 minutes ago. GIMMIE a few minutes dickhead. That being said on the 2nd last song. Skipped the 3 they released prior to the drop. Vampires demeanor and snakes for breakfast is my favorite. Poisonous weapons seems to be my least favorite on first listen. Going to take a bit to digest this full album though
>>131376886>no brentbin that shit, it's ogre
>>131378528>Ben Koller>Josh Homme>Randy Blythe>Nate Newton>Geezer Butler>Joe Duplantier>Neil FallonPretty cool line up of guests
From what I've heard on the album so far, it sounds like the best thing they've put out since Crack the Skye, was that other guy holding them back.
>>131379065That "other guy" wrote crack the Skye. And sort of. He started to really hate heavy music and wouldn't want to write and record it towards the end of his life
I think Hushed and Grim is their best album
First couple of listens have been good. Some songs I'm not sold on yet but I have enjoyed the album more than anything since at least the hunter.
I think it's bretty good honestly.
>>131376886It's a no skipper. AOTY
Great another thread that is about shitty teen-metal
>>131380468Hey man you didn't need to click on the thread. Bitch ass nigga
>>131380822Dude I'm tired of all this fake metal. Someone put on some Metallica man.
Pretty good so far, it's not Blood Mountain - Crack the Skye era good tho
>Golden Spires
>>131379375I wholeheartedly disagree.
>>131380305Ehh Neurosis' is much much better
>>131381666That's my number 2. Shrug
>>131379375too much filler
Three Fates is my favorite so far
>>131376886First listen: I liked it a lot. Really cool riffs and super groovy. It's their most experimental album yet. That's one of the things I really love about Mastodon, their sound is always evolving.
>>131379375I love Hushed and Grim!
>>131376886I haven't listened to the last three tracks. So far it's good but not their best work. Cool keyboard solos and the new guitarist can play. Nick's guitar is a bit thin and Troy vocals sound weird.
>>131386047The last 3 tracks are the best
WE'RE IN DANGERThe opening song is so good
Moth and Bone is fucking beautiful. It has such a relaxing, atmospheric sound.
>>131378723it's a who's-who of "bands fat safe-masculine hipster guys from wisconsin listen to"
It's not on Rutracker?
>>131388467Yesmagnet:?xt=urn:btih:BE96A3F09308E18523F7E7DE802C780921C55F70&tr=http%3A%2F%2Fbt.t-ru.org%2Fann%3Fmagnet&dn=(Progressive%20Metal)%20Mastodon%20-%20Marrow%20Deep%20-%202026%2C%20MP3%2C%20320%20kbps
>>131388558Oh thanks
Enjoying The Vanishing, it has Planet Caravan vibes
>>131376886Never cared for mastodon
>>131388036I'm pretty sure Fallon and Homme are crypto chuds
>>131390108Well Geezer Butler plays in the intro
>>131376886>band's original member dies>they make their best album in yearsWhat are some other examples of this besides the latest Depeche Mode?
>>131390801DM has never been good. They range from bad to horrible, so if your picrel is actually listenable, it's still probably shit.
>>131388036post your top 10. you won't
>>131391564>DM has never been goodLmao now that's a hot take
>>131390265amazing
>>131381041I can't think of anything more metal than suing your fan base
A Vampires Demeanor is fucking great
>>131390108>>131390265the obvious Ozzy inspired vocals are who, Brann?
>>131392560Dude Metallica make real metal not this stupid childrens music.
>>131392711According to Genius, Dailor sings the verses and Sanders sings the chorus
This album put to rest any doubts that Nick wasn't a good choice. The dude crushed it on every song. Does anyone know what's his background?
>>131390801Brent really hadn't been much of a major player in Mastodon for quite a while. He was special and he'll definitely be missed but I think Mastodon will be even better moving forward now that they have a band full of members who actually want to be there.
>>131394738I think it was clear he didn't enjoy playing metal anymore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGGTzzxjcl4
>>131379065Brent was super talented but had gone off the rails by the end, I don't think he contributed a lot to the albums after Crack the Skye
>>131392729No you are right. They were pretty cool in 1986.
yeah its bretty fucking good
>>131379375it's not but it's still greatbill's riffs are incredible over the entire album
>fake advertising thread full of fake positive reviewslol the soibois in mastochungus hired jeets to shill on social media and this is what they got for their money
>>131399708Nice buzzword salad retard, go back to your shitty general
>>131376886its good but im just not into them as much anymore.
I haven't listened them since Sultan of Swing. Is there any reason to listen this now that Brent's gone if Skye is my favourite album of theirs?
>>131400110Just give it a try
>>131399907>sarr mastopicklerick ees the real metal not reddit npr snore music i swearing many oaths! thread is not shill!
>>131400897Lmao you are truly braindead
>>131400110I didn't know they covered Dire Straits

>>131398018>I don't think he contributed a lot to the albums after Crack the Skyeno wonder everything after it blows.
>>131401774You are a complete fucktard
>>131399607Good list, Blood Mountain enjoyer. I'd move The Hunter up to B. They don't have a single bad album, even their weakest one is awesome.
>>131392749Gojira singers sings at the outro
>>131403208Stop feeding the troll
Are they still making pop music?
>>131403669This is definitely one of their most proggy albums
