Why did he get filtered by Paul's granny tunes?
>>
Well he was the leader, then they got a deal and George Martin rightfully recognize P-Mac as the musical talent. He was a jealous guy.
>>
>>131377264
He didn't get "filtered". He wanted to become a serious artist while Paul wanted to remain a pop jingle writer.
>>
>>131377264
He could not reconcile the fact that you could rebel and reject convention without explicitly stating it in every song.
>>
>>131377282
Eleanor Rigby, Martha My Dear, Yesterday, Paul has plenty of serious music. John is a better lyricist but he also was making clown shoe music like Bungalow Bill and Everybody's got something to hide 'xcept for me and my monkey
>>
>>131377294
When did Paul ever do anything even remotely rebellious in his entire musical career?

Weird, /mu/ used to absolutely hate this band before 2016. I take it you're new here? We used to bully Beatles posters nonstop back then. It would've been funny to see how they would've dealt with you.
>>
>>131377303
Does this guy even sleep?
>>
>>131377300
He rejected tunelessness and fake-humble, fake-black bullshit and made things like Live and Let Die, dude pushed the envelope and dared to be ambitious
>>
>>131377297
>Eleanor Rigby, Martha My Dear, Yesterday, Paul has plenty of serious music
They're good songs, but in terms of structure and composition they are very standard pop ditties. Not that a serious artist has to be experimental or "avant garde" on everything they do, but I would except at least a little bit of an anarchic spirit from someone who genuinely viewed their creative efforts as important or spiritually enriching.

jesus christ, this is pathetic. get a job. i feel sorry for your parents.
>>
>>131377320
he SET the standard. Do you understand we're talking about Paul McCartney of The Beatles?
>>
This thread would've been shut down fast during the old days, shame really.
>>
>>131377334
Anon I hate to break it to you, but The Beatles did not invent the pop music formula. And while we're at it, they did not invent psychedelic music either.
>>
>>131377320
Michelle is about as advanced as you can get for a pop song
>>
>>131377300
Helter Skelter?
Too easy anon. The idea is that everything after Pepper (granny music) and his solo stuff is him being too overt and cynical.
>>
>>131377352
All music is psychedelic if you listen to it on psychedelics. Listen to Vivaldi on acid, pretty sure Vivaldi wasn't doing acid but his shit is more psychedelic than your tranny ass rich kid "Jefferson Airplane", 13th floor elevators or whatever band you think makes you look cool. And those bands wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Beatles

Completely agreed. My partner (we're gay) literally farted his dinner out in agreement about this boyband opinion. Did you know /mu/ hated the Beatles before 2016?

Did you know that the popular opinion of /mu/ doesn't matter? Even from 10 years ago?
>>
>>131377372
Agreed! I'm also autistic and retarded not sure it matters
>>
>>131377372
I'll have to agree. I'm also extremely intelligent and hold multiple degrees, although I'm unsure if that's relevant.

John was 2/3 or more of the first few albums, so i'm doubting your fan fic is accurate.

First few albums are boyband garbage. The Beatles began with Rubber Soul

Holy shit old /mu/ was legitimately retarded. Glad I didn't use this website in 2014, I lost nothing of value
>>
>>131381184
Go back then
>>
>>131377300
Writing granny tunes was every bit as rebellious to the standard rock formula as anything George did with his Indian tunes or John did with Revolution 9.
>>
>>131377264
He didnt. He never publicly said shit about "granny tunes" until he had already decided to ditch the Beatles, which he did because he was pissed at George - not Paul.
>>
>>131377282
Paul did all the experimental arty-farty shit on Johns songs. The tape and drum loops on Tomorrow Never Knows, the melotron on Strawberry Field, the Lowrey Organ on Lucy In The Sky, the atonal orchestral freakout on A Day In Life - those were all Paul, not John.

You're confusing Epsteins typecasting with reality.
>>
>>131382047
John didn't really know how to do anything but Chuck Berry rips.
