But I can see how it's a little less ''alien'' and shares a few elements with the trip hop and already established 2nd/3rd wave post rock conventions of the early 2000s that might take away from its initial mystique for somebody. Like you could map out that C:D and, say, Bowery Electric are within the same vicinity whereas you'd need to cross a bridge to get to the Talk Talk/Hex side of the musical suburbs, if that makes sense.

Hijacking this thread to ask this: do we know why Graham Sutton stopped making music of his own for the last 20 years and stuck with handling producing duties ever since C:D came out? It doesn't seem to be a Mark Hollis situation where he just felt like he said everything he needed to say and retired from music altogether.
