You can follow bands, but by following fans you can find people really tapped into, say, a particular scene in their city, or who just have cool taste.On albums without an insane number of purchases, I like to look through the libraries of the buyers listed. I take it as a promising sign if they have a few albums in common with me (particularly lesser-known stuff) but a ton of other albums I don't know. Then I'll look closer and see if it's all from a particular region or what (if I'm looking for more stuff from, say, Philly). Also good to look for people who buy often but don't buy too much, as an indicator that they have high standards when buying albums.
