I anticipate that record companies are going to push harder and harder for AI-generated music. Music journalists with no scruples will gradually be hired and promoted based on their willingness to stick to the new political party line that AI music, far from being bad for the environment or whatever they say now, is actually The Great Equalizer that allows the marginalized and voiceless to express themselves without needing to access elite institutions and spend huge amounts of money and time on equipment and practice. In 2015, the FADER produced a piece describing SOPHIE and AG Cook as spearheading the “summer of Female Appropriation.” Pretty yucky in retrospect for all you #allies out there who didn’t realize SOPHIE was trans (or rather, who didn’t anticipate that SOPHIE would adopt a trendy lifestyle choice to further sell music and peddle influence). Fantano’s review of this album will be seen as a similarly ugly piece of music journalism in our “enlightened” future where mediocrity is upheld even more strictly and the masses more enthusiastically accept the spiritual death of art. Long live the new flesh.
>>131397053I was in that thread, that was a good post. Or maybe it was already a copypasta back then?
>>131397053if you are anti-ai you literally have the same opinion as blue haired trannies and liberals
>>131397053I have no issue with people using AI.But this just doesn't so good. The problem with AI is still it's uncanny valley and sounds tinny, whether it's video or audio.I'm sure in a few years this will improve. But these people are of course trying to pioneer something that isn't ready. It's the same with most AI images, I have seen AI images that I would liked as well. Also boomers have no problem with AI at any level because they're too retarded to tell the difference. Meaning their ears must be shot and their eyesight failing them.I think just like how there are bots that can play chess better than grandmasters, AI in a few years will write better music than the best. But I think there still needs to be user input. The issue now is AI can be used for maybe some parts, but you still need to produce and mix it, there is no real AI studio other than ACE STUDIO.It still generates gibberish and wonky shit.I am all for AI, the issue is low effort jeets ruin it everywhere. Only someone already TALENTED can do something with AI. But this was very lazy. I am disappointed with everyone involved, come on TygaWe need someone like Carti to utilize AI. AI is still a tool, it cannot do everything for you, and you still need taste.
AI also cannot write lyrics for shit. This is why poets and lyricists exist. Maybe if there was a model trained on every song and it was also given a framework of how poetry works or how certain lyrics work better within a certain BPM or whatever. But right now AI really fails at make anything esoteric. Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, Deepseek and Gemini cannot write lyrics for shit. And neither can the AI generator platforms for music.I'm sure in a few years this might change. But I think we'll need real AI.There are just somethings that seem simple but hard for machines to do. It seems it is easier for AI to understand something more mathematical like musical, rather than somethnig more abstract like poetry and just being natural.
>>131402285yes saar AI is future and if you dont like you are tranny !
>>131397053Agree with you but your seething over Sophie is in no way similar with the AI situation of current year
>>131402364>uncanny valley>sounds tinnySo like most pop?
>>131402465No, AI has a really distinct sound in both music and videos. That you can immediately tell it's AI, I don't know how to describe it. It sounds almost metallic or clipped.I'm sure this problem will be resolved in the future, just like how they got rid of the finger count issues or hand issues in image generation and later solved issues with consistency in videos. I'm saying this is still a new technology. People have warned that it would come to a point where its hard to distinguish between Deepfakes or AI, but we haven't reached that point yet.Only room temperature IQ jeets and boomers fall for it.And I'm saying this as someone that uses AI all the time and pays for various platforms. It still fucking sucks and what's even worse is when they clearly nerf it in future updates. They did that shit with Grok and now the latest version of Grok looks cartoonish as hell, I don't know why they regressed when they kept getting better and better, but it still felt like a template. At this point nothing can replace a real artist or composer. And it's certainly the worst at video generation.I'll say again, AI could be good at creating storyboards or some rough draft of what you're thinking, or maybe u could get a feel of something without having to spend hours crafting it, just to see if your melody works with more backing, but there no way, no fucking way at this point it should be used in any quality, finished product. I have lots of thoughts on this because I use it a lot and I have many brainlet friends that don't see it as a tool, but something they talk to or just accept everything from without question.Go ahead and ask AI if fucking Nina Drama is a jeet and it'll tell you she's Italian/French like she claims. It still has a long way to go
>>131397053The bigger problem with AI music is the lyrics, since LLMs work by word-association and prediction, their lyrics are all exactly the same descriptive pattern. The AI will never be able to write abstract lyrics rooted on personal experiences like American Pie.
The day someone uses AI to create something fresh either like beefheart, or fiery furnaces, or John Fahey with some electronic synth heavy shit and makes it sound completely revolutionary than ai will praise it and probably download it. Until then I will continue to shit on the mediocre pop adjacent shit people are making. You gotta becway more experimental with it and those people arent making pop, one day a Charlie XCX will pull off a genuine experimental pop record that sounds interesting
