Even if it were true, it wouldn't be a problem, but the vast majority of metalheads listen to other shit. Classical music, prog, 60s and 70s rock, movie soundtracks, country, folk from different countries, electronic music, jazz, blues, gothic rock, punk... Hence the huge number of fusions over the decades (even with shit like hip hop).

I prefer to close my eyes and listen to Psychosocial and I’m proud of that, fuck you.
It is far more respectable to be heavily into one or two genree than to be a tourist with "diverse" and "eclectic" taste who only listens to the RYM and Fantano-approved picks for each genre. Having diverse music taste is for faggots.
