Has any rock album been hurt more by revisionism than this one?
>>
>>131410268
it was already unpopular in the early 90's.
I don't know about the 80's, I was too young
>>
>>131410268
What’s the revisionism?
>>
>>131410268
In the mid 90s i was told it and London Calling were the best all time punk albums. London Calling sucked ass
>>
>>131410428
the clash and their shit music (and fake political posturing) have been a disaster for the human race
>>
>>131410969
>>131410428
Kurt Cobain hated The Clash, and loved Sex Pistols.
>>
>>131410409
>johnny rotten is MAGAtard and insufferable drunk boomer, therefore the sex pistols are bad
i guess
his singing gets quickly annoying, but i guess there's a reason 99% of punk bands copied either him or the riffs, or both
>>
>>131410409
There isn't any. The modern left are 1000 times more deranged than James Callaghan ever was. Lydon was on point back then, more so now. Still holds up. Names have just changed.
>>
>>131410428
>>131411020
Love Kills is the only good song Joe Strummer ever made and it was not with The Clash.
>>
>>131411020
combat rock was in his top 50 albums
>>
>>131410428
Yeah I had this pushed on me when I starting liking punk. Never understood their appeal outside of a few songs.
>>
>>131410428
London Calling is not a punk album
>>
>>131411020
Why should I care about what a numale future tranny who ACKed himself thought about anything?
>>
>>131410268
it was never good
>>
>>131410268
Nope.

Its actually crazy because this album basically changed music for the next few decades. The Sex Pistols were a music revolution second only to the Beatles and up until like a decade or two ago it was still respected as such but now most people just think they were some boy band or right wing group of racists or posers, but they were the most shocking thing the music industry and establishment had to come up against in regards to rock music.

Its also one of the best selling punk albums of all time and none of the Ramones albums even come close in sales, yet for some reason the first Ramones album is more renowned today.
>>
>>131410268
It's funny because, you see, take Bodies, for example, still feels more relevant today than anything by the Dead Kennedys or the Clash.
>>
>>131410268
low key fire, unc, fr fr

>blocks yer path to a second album

I can't be the only one who actually enjoys Sid's cover of My Way, right? And the fact that he died only 7 months after releasing it makes the song and the videoclip even more kino.

>>131414881
no, he was a one man kino machine (like a slow motion car wreck sort of kino)
>>
>>131414598
Truth
>>
>>131414881
Yeah I love that cover too. It's sort of godawful and cringe but in a kino way, it's this worthless junkie's epic last stand against the civilised world he's aimlessly and hopelessly rebelling against. The whole context of Sid's life and death makes it a weird rollercoaster and it adds lots of extra layers to it that probably weren't intended (I assume Sid hadn't planned to die immediately after)
>>
it's the only good punk album.
>>
>>131410268
I think Johnny Rotten is probably the best punk vocalist ever but I don't like the extreme cynicism and focus on politics and british culture of this specific time that this has. I prefer something like Buzzcocks or Stooges which are more turned inwards with their lyrics, than outwards
>>
>>131410268
eric clapton’s career
>>
>>131415778
To be fair he was always overrated
>>
>>131415848
>To be fair
go back, vaxxed lib
>>
>>131415848
he went from being properly rated to being underrated because of faggots like you
>>
This is the only punk album that really mattered
>>
>>131415869
The fuck does any of that have to do with anything? Clapton has always been boring as shit, and Cream especially has always been overrated.
>>
>>131416180
>t. reddit hendrix lover
>>
>>131416180
>The fuck does any of that have to do with anything?
another shitlib pretending to be clueless about world news anf the consequences of his cult’s smears
>>
I am really fucking tired of pretending punk wasn't the biggest psyop of all time.
>dude! i can't believe my pops who fought in ww2 wants me to get a job! the MAN can't hold me down!
-he fucking genre. its glorified NEETcore
>>
>>131410268
PiL mogs the Pistols.
>>
>>131417163
ww2 is still the biggest psyop of all time
>>
>>131415728
you talk too much and don't know anything about the things you talk too much about
>>
For me it’s 17, Submission and New York.
>>
>>131417163
based wholesome retard has been a self-collared dog his whole life so the idea of adolescent angst and contempt for authority being expressed through short, fast, and provocative music is totally incomprehensible
>>
>>131417639
these are my favorites too, and New York is the album's real rocker

>POOR LITTLE FAGGOT
>YOU'RE SEALED WITH A KISS
>>
>>131417163
England was like that. In the US, where it was born, they didn’t take it as seriously.
>>
>>131417693
The kicker is Steve Jones playing Johnny Thunders' lick from Vietnamese Baby near the end of the song.
>>
>>131418587
Punk is a fundamentally UK genre. Next are you going to tell us how Jigaboo Jackson invented Rock?
>>
>>131418701
Dude, by the time the Pistols were formed, the RAMONES were already recording demos.
This is early 75
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSzxyG6FtiM
>>
>>131418850
the DAMNED released their stuff a year before the pistols.
so it probably goes like this: ramones > damned > pistols
>>
>>131418850
So were the Pistols?
>>
>>131412304
He probably wrote that list at morning inbetween a blowjob and a omelete. He put NWA Straight outta compton as one of his top 50 albums.
>>
>>131412753
Back then maybe he was right. I'm sure he would have completely changed his mind in today's enviroment.
>>
>>131420282
>>131420282
Exactly! Even chuds should be able to acknowledge that naive/well-meanings feminists (in theory, I understand the movement was founded by/weaponized by ZOG) had some legitimate complaints, this was the case up until shortly after Kurt's death, obviously they have run amok and its all gone too far, all movements are astroturfed/weaponized eventually
>>
Yes let's all talk about politics and ignore the elephant in the room of Sex Pistols literally being a front for Malcolm McLaren's clothing boutique. Don't address the fact that all punk rock exists in the service of capitalism, we should instead bury our heads in the sand and pretend that nothing is ever manufactured.

>Dude they were as influential as The Beatles!
Another fake phony band that subsisted more off merchandise and cult of personality.
>>
>>131416243
NTA but there is no correlation with that anons post and libshit. What the fuck are you talking about?
Trying to derail the thread?
>>
>>131410428
London Calling insist upon itself but at least in a earnest way. I hated it hears ago, now I melted into accepting it as the fun music overhyped by retarded critics as it always was.
>>
>>131417615
You talk like you're fucking Johnny Rotten himself, shut tf up. What is it you know that I don't know
