If not for a few decades between the two and technological and industry advances that allowed the latter to produce music easier. And one additional member.

>one actually plays their own instruments and writes their own songs
>whats the difference?
>>
>>131422446
With the advent of electronic music and AI, musicians no longer need to play instruments. The Beatles were a glorified boyband.

You can say that about any band from the 60s
>>
>>131422377
I mean at this point it's clear you're actually quite a big fan of both bands.

I don't know who that is on the bottom

New Age influence pervaded all Western society from youngsters to elders, while poptimism is aimed at young girls. New Age still reigns stably to this day even if some don't even know what it is, while poptimism has arcs and isn't appealing in moments of suffering, growing up/aging and/or reflection like New Age is; it's only appealing in specific life ages or moments.
One Direction will be remembered by their fans in the future, but just as a periodical source of pleasure, not as a group of gurus who through music helped them start or keep their journey of inner realization whatever that should mean.

What’s wrong with that?

The beatles earned appreciation from both genders. One Direction is only genuinely liked by girls and followed by cynical men who chameleon anything girls like to get laid. (A decade ago. Now those types are stuck with K-Pop)

Simple:
I have yet to assassinate Harry Styles for making a song like "Imagine"

(Though he did try with "American Girls")

The beatlesfag seethe ITT is off the charts.

Please point me to the period in time when One Direction pioneered the music video and the idea of the album as a cohesive whole, popularized experimental types of music that were only popular in the underground, or produced an animated movie that singlehandedly inspired a generation of artists. Boy bands are what happens if the Beatles never evolve past Please Please Me.
>>
how come 1 direction and the other gayboyslop groups don't make good music tho? you like to lump the beatles in with all these talentless hacks yet they made great music and none of these other boy "bands" ever did

The fuck? One Direction has many great, memorable hits

>"What Makes You Beautiful" (2011) – Their massive career-launching debut single and global puppy-love anthem.
>"Drag Me Down" (2015) – The triumphant first single released as a four-piece after Zayn left the group."
>Story of My Life" (2013) – An acoustic, nostalgic fan favorite with a peak at No. 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
>"Best Song Ever" (2013) – The high-energy track that earned their highest-ever peak at No. 2 on the US Hot 100.
>"Night Changes" (2014) – A smooth, romantic ballad co-written by the band members."Live While We're Young" (2012) – An upbeat, explosive pop opener that peaked at No. 3 in the US.
>"Steal My Girl" (2014) – A stadium-ready, piano-driven anthem from the album Four.
>"One Thing" (2011) – A wildly catchy, energetic early single that became a worldwide smash."Kiss You" (2013) – A fun, fast-paced pop track from their second album Take Me Home.
>"Perfect" (2015) – A mid-tempo pop track co-written by Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.

One Direction break a record for the most top 10 Hot 100 debuts among groups (with 5, passing The Beatles' 4). Everyone knows What Makes You Beautiful.

The modern boy bands didn't stay together long enough to grow up and start experimenting with their sound like the Beatles and Beach Boys did. Instead they'd put out the first couple albums and then the most popular members would kick the rest of them to the curb so they could rush to their solo careers.
