If sales don't determine quality, even less do a couple of terminally online rymtrannies.
The only reason Bieber isn't in that top 100 greatest albums, is because his fans don't visit sites like rym/aoty, change the demographic (or rather, increase it to 10m people) and you'd see that top 100 rearrange, with Hagdalena Bait dropping out of the top 2000.
That can clearly be seen, by the fact that Hybrid Theory is ranked ~8100 on rym, but 775 on aoty.
Sales might not determine quality, but it is an useful metric to determine how many people a certain album is able to reach, which is particularly important when it comes to popslop like imaginal disk

I didnt like Imaginal at first but it grows on you the more you listen to it. It is consistently good and ends on a great note with the chorus on last song finally using the melody from before for some reason is very satisfying.
