I don't know how to feel about zoomers discovering and listening to Interpol, MGMT, Modest Mouse, The Strokes, Bloc Party, LCD Soundsystem, Beach House, Crystal Castles etc.
>>131427877You should be happy we really like the Crystal Castles and Bloc Party sound
>>131427877I don't know how to feel about any millennialcore getting rediscovered. I feel so distant from that whimsy & carefree type of art nowadays it's like seeing grownups hide in their childhood bouncy castles.
>>131428374>heh , youre old now, you must be miserable and wallow in misery in all the media you consume!
>>131427877As long as they don't support Jewish Vampire Weekend I am ok.
>>131427877Before the generation war went feral in 2018 I never thought of those as being millennial bands, they were just bands. They all remained organically relevant from the time you were 20 to the time I was 20, with the exception being Crystal Castles. In that case there was definitely a dip and (noticeably shallow) rise in relevance. That sound is more of a fashionable personality accessory for zoomer edgelords. Not dissimilar to the way it went the first time around but I digress. When I listen to Interpol it's because the music is good.In the case of The Dare I don't think young people ever even bothered to listen to LCD Soundsystem. Reciting the list of bands from losing my edge is a heinously uncool thing to do.
It was bad enough going through college with the millennials who liked that stuff. Much worse now that it’s all also got a bit of a hazy nostalgic glow around it.On the other hand, I find myself a bit defensive at the way Zoomers are already getting on their haunches about how indie culture was. That “Hipster Runoff” song from Lex Walmart has had me mad for a week. What the fuck does that pharmaceutical experiment know about Carles?
wait till zoomers discover chillwave, and animal collective, and hypnogogic pop and like quirky late 2000s early 2010s wes anderson films, and zooy dechanale, and Michel cera
>>131427877All of those except Modest Mouse sucks, and they're basically music for assholes anyway.
>>131427877Would you rather live in a brown shithole where reggaeton-derived shit still reigns after 25 years? Believe me, you don't
