First new Sleep material in 8 years, albeit with a radically different lineup. Will you be listening? Thoughts on the new material? Personally I haven't been excited at all after learning Matt Pike has left and I haven't even checked out the singles but I guess I'll listen to the album as a cohesive whole at least once to see if I unexpectedly like it.

Stoner undermployed mid 30s loser here (so target demo) without Pike it won't have the same sovl i'm afraid. Won't necessarily be bad sludge metal but it won't be Sleep

Fuck Matt Pike, long live the beast genius David Caress

I probably won't but I liked OM more than High on Fire so it might be ok idk.

probably worth a spin but I think every prior lineup is better, Matt Pike especially being a hard act to follow for any guitarist
from the one track that already released it kind of sounds like Al is just doing softer Om-like material under the Sleep name
and I don't blame him for that, gotta pay for bills and kush somehow

I've always preferred OM relative to High On Fire but over time I've come to appreciate Pike's project more & more. It's got a lot of what Sleep has. I really liked his solo album too.
Why don't Al & Pike get along anyways?
