It is back, but Gen X/young Boomers still control all of the money in the scene...so basically all of the folks who ran labels that promoted futurepop, aggrotech, darkwave, etc. bands did a hard pivot to Witch House (after discovering it 3 years too late.), and then again to "Hipster Goth Revival" like Drab Majesty and SRSQ. Even the good bands kinda suck, in an artistic sense. There is practically nothing original in the international Goth/Industrial scene, at least in an official capacity. Goth has been an undead genre since the mid-90's when all of that enya-goth shit like fields of nephilim and en ensch got popular.
