Zelda 40th anniversary global concert tour coming next year. You gonna go listen to some ludo-magic?
I have a weird relationship with Zelda, OoT has one of the best soundtracks of all time but I could never get into the game itself, while some other of the titles are among my favorite ever but not their music...
Even though I actually like some of zeldas music going to video game orchestras is the cringiest thing ever
>>131494012OoT is my favorite videogame of all time and it has a stellar soundtrack by videogame standards, but "by videogame standards" is doing the heavy lifting here. Koji Kondo wrote like 4 unique melodies and then spent the rest of his career milking them and using samples for everything. He's less of a musician and more of a producer. Albeit he is an exceptional producer. I think objectively his best work is for Star Fox, although I like Zelda's music better because he at least tried to be more experimental, and Zeldas broad range of settings and dungeons lend themselves well to experimental background music. I actually have the OoT Soundtrack on CD speaking of which>>131494096Also this. There are way better Philharmonic Orchestras out there playing genuine music from real composers. Seeing a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 live and in person is genuinely life changing. I don't think there is a single videogame composition that would make me feel the same way
