It's a good album but it's not THAT good. I'm mystified by the hype.

>>131492410I think it’s quite tasteful. Where it lacks strong lyrics and singing, it makes up for it in composition. At worst it’s dull but what do you expect with those muted colors on the album cover?

I've been listening to underground rock records my whole life and few are as sublime as dusters first couple of records

I first heard it when it started to get recognition on /mu/ around 2015. I was walking outside and I started crying during the middle instrumental part of Heading for the Door. I felt something was missing in indie rock, and it was exactly the music I wanted to make up until that point: the chords used, the mood, the tempo, everything. I got the same feeling with Reed to Hillsborough and The Twins / Romantica.I kinda gave up trying to compose songs around that time and now just noodle with my guitar and keys when I feel like playing, but this album got me through a rough patch in my twenties.I'm not a huge fan of Contemporary Movement though, I think the depressing vibe was overdone, except for the song Cooking. Capsule Losing Contact is also absolutely great, a resigned slow crawl. I don't listen to them anymore, but that's really the 5 songs from them that mean a lot to me.
