Fantastic music to watch the hours go by purposeless, you should do something with life but you can't bring yourself to care enough

just admit its great you fag, their whole catalog ages like fine wine.
On Fire is one of the best albums to learn or teach guitar, every song is simple af to play and shows how much you can get out of 2 or 3 simples chords

I'm ESL and I first encountered the word "tugboat" while reading a book about the Velvet Underground saying that Sterling Morrison became a tugboat captain later in life and I immediately thought back to that Galaxie 500 song thinking it would be funny if it were written about his later career which turns out exactly to have been the motivation for this song

I like their first album better

That‘s how I felt at first and now its in my top ten. It grows on you. The songs are so simple and catchy, and the more you listen, you start to appreciate all the subtleties like the bells in Decomposing Trees and the cymbals in Snowstorm. I love the way this and the other Galaxie 500 albums sound

>mid at best
It obviously is good
Why would you call music that you enjoy "mid"?

Same
It's just so easy to listen to, and comforting.
On Fire is still great though.
I haven't listened to their third album yet
