The truth is simple: this one MBV album wasn't exceedingly acclaimed for no reason. Its well deserved acclaim and popularity is precisely why you say it's outdone. The album before loveless is great but completely lacks the depth to be comparable in a shoegaze sense, then you have the modern album which has a lot going for it but absolutely doesnt hit the highs that Loveless does and while being concise thats not gonna take it to the best shoegaze thickness of all time you get on Loveless.
