It's just because they're not as old of a brand as Fender and Gibson. The bulk of all the legendary rock music was played with the latter 2 brands just because they were the two main guitar brands of the era. That means those guitars will always be somewhat desired. Fender and Gibson have been coasting on that for decades.Objectively speaking PRS make better quality guitars than Fender and Gibson these days. Especially Fender, which is why partially why Fender is trying to sue them (and everyone else) because Fender's quality control has gone downhill and they're increasingly losing their market share in Europe and Asia. So in those parts of the world you often do see Ibanez or PRS being used by younger artists.

>>131546433People don't realize back in the late 60s/70s when rock was at its peak you basically either had Fender or if you wanted humbuckers you had Gibson. Gretsch was also an option but not preferred for rock. That was basically it. In the 80s Super Stats took off but it was pretty much Fender or Gibson Schecter started off making parts for Fenders before making guitars, Jackson, Charvel, all of them PRS didn't start making guitars until the 80s and the early models sucked. They've come a long way
