sorry for potato photo quality. My epiphone SG has been my workhorse since 2008. Bought at guitar center for about $250-ish. This is actually the second one i've owned. The first one i bought from guitar center developed a huge crack down the back of the bookmatch. luckily, it was within 30 days of buying it, so they swapped it out for a new one no-questions asked. been with me ever since. swapped the stock pickups for dimarzios. has a custom brass nut. upgraded electronics with each volume knob able to coil-split its respective pickup. have written/recorded every style of music on it from country to blues to deathcore.
>>131556229god i love SGs. can literally do everything.the only one i actually owned was a gibson sg-x which was literally just a bridge humbucker, pure rock machine but who really needs more than a bridge pickup sometimes anyway. i traded her plus cash for what i have now, it was one of the summer beach series ones
>>131559585I inherited the Hagström from my father, it was his first electric guitar and is a '71 model from the line with Jimmy D'aquisto special tailored headstocks or some shit like that. It is a good guitar for blues, partially some jazz, and has a sorta dumpf-mellow sound to it if used right. It also mixes well into heavier genres of metal like sludge/doom and give the Oomph that my fender stratocaster does not add
>>131559585>>131559614I gotta fix it up, though. It has been gathering dust a long while because one of the pick-ups "disastrously" in my worst period of life, got "knocked in"...
Ibanez AR550 in polar white, one of 36 ever made! Probably less around now, active EQ built in and a gain circuit. Traded an ‘84 MIJ Tele and a Bassman 135 stack for it
>>131559793that's actually super cool. never seen one of those. do you have any recordings of it? i'd like to hear what it can do
>thread up for 9 hours >8 replies lol

>>131561874you actually thought people play instruments here? go look at /gg/ there's like 3 people total confirmed that actually have guitars and the rest are instrumentlets arguing over gear they've never used
>>131562066Thanks
>>131562141you SUCK at guitar
re-issue of The Strat series from the 80s. made in japan. same exact specs as the original series. great guitar. very special to me because my friend gave it to me. he's like a brother to me. he's a drummer, so we were always sending gear to each other for birthdays and whatnot. it's become a workhorse. great for jamming/writing. great for recording. already used it on about 30 songs i've recorded.
>>131562222thanks
>>131562358i'll kiss you on the LIPS
>>131562368thanks?

>>131562416One can not master guitar. One can only obey its will.
>>131562423ok but post a picture of your thighs so i know that you actually play guitar for real
>>131562441

>>131562474I am everything I've claimed to be
thanks to sheet happens, finding tabs has become impossible.this is bullshit dude.you used to be able to find tabs for any song all over the internet, there were even forums, now it's just ultimate piece of shit and some other lame ass sites that don't work or you have to pay money to learn a fucking song. guitarists got greedy as shit.
>>131562477yeah, a fag.
>>131562565I don't think I made that claim
>>131562583you're the one who said you don't like guys in a sexual way in a fuckin' guitar thread, pal
>>131562583>I don't thinkWe know
>>131562609I did?

>>131562669I did?

>>131562711fag
>>131562728you win this time, you son of a bitch
>>131560264do you actually own this guitar? buddy guy rules, and i love those old epi semi-hollows
>>131562882epiphone > gibsonthere. i said it. fight me.
>>131562893this one was made in 1950 before gibson bought epiphone. they were two competing companies at that point, not just cheaper versions of gibsons
>>131562912oh i know. that's what i'm saying. epiphones MOGGED gibsons of the time. i've played both. even when they got bought out, the MIJ epiphones were better than the MIA gibsons. gibson was hit an miss all from the 70-2000s. very overrated. i've played great gibsons, but the price hardly ever justifies the amout of guitar you get. the quality control has always been shit. i think late 70s/early 80s gibsons were peak, but a lot of people would disagree. then for a brief time in the early 90s, they got good again.
squier classic vibe butterscotch tele. bought it back when i worked at a music shop back in 2011/12. it's original print-run. the first run was made in china at a custom shop. then they outsourced to Indonesia and the quality nosedived. replaced all the electronics with gold-plated bullshit. 4 way switch (bridge, series, parallel, neck). pickups by Bareknuckle UK. the "piledriver" set. great guitar. probably appeared on at least 70 of my recordings at minimum. realistically, probably 100+. had it since 2011. she's been good to me. plays better than most modern MIA fender teles
it's crazy how few musicians there are on a supposed music board
post ur guitars or there will be consequences
>all this gay boomer shitYAWN
>>131563452post your non-boomer guitar, faggot. i'll wait. if you post a jazzmaster, i'll kill you.
>>131563452how's THIS for "boomer" shit. ever play tech-death?
i'm ass at the guitar, you guys.what the hell are we gonna do?
>>131564042recording music made me a lot better at guitar and bass. just the mere fact of having to record to a click track made me miles better. try it.
>>131564047i was getting into recording, i was using abelton and tone3000 but after an update i can no longer hear my own guitar, i hate music recording software, it's always convoluted and unintuitive i hate that shit.
I impulse bought a guitar at a thrift store, I think it mostly works. I don't know how to play guitar. What do I do?
>>131564060if you want garageband for windows, i'd recommend mixcraft. it's like 100 bucks (i think?). great software. very easy on the eyes. pretty powerful once you get under the hood. all your vsts will work with it. very simple layout. retard-proof (trust me, i'm retarded).i found that just laying down a simple 8th note bassline, and a drum machine in a DAW helped my musicianship beyond words. you get a nice drum track and a bassline, the guitar comes second-nature. lay some synth on top of that, and you've got a stew goin', baby.
>>131564060>i can no longer hear my own guitaryou tried turning it up in the mix? lmao
>>131564087no i mean it's not recognizing my output device and it doesn't give me an option to choose my output device, it only lets me choose the input and then assumes the input device is the output device, so i can't hear shit. it used to work but now it doesn't, idk why. i'm assuming it was a recent update.
>>131564060>after an update i can no longer hear my own guitarsounds like an interface problem. what usb interface are you using to record? does it have onboard volume/gain? walk me through this. i hate to see people give up on recording music. it's honestly such a fulfilling hobby.
>>131564104does it FORCE you to have the same input device as the output device? with my setup, i have a cheap m-audio usb interface, then in my DAW i have it set to my cheap speakers from 2008.>input: m-audio usb interface>output: realtek audio/PC speakersdoes your DAW allow you to do something similar?
>>131564117i'm using an m track duo
>>131564129this is what the settings look like, i don't remember if it had an output device option in the past, i just remember that after putting the settings like this it all worked fine without any input lag, which was a problem i was having.now i can't hear the output no matter what i do to the settings.
>>131564131have you got the most recent driver updates for the m-track? i know it sounds dumb, but humor me.
>>131564141i haven't checked, i just got the mtrack like a week ago, so if they updated the drivers from a week ago then probably not, let me check.
>>131564138forgive the reddit-layout post. i'm just gonna list off some troubleshooting type shit.>driver type: ASIOdoes your DAW have the option for WAVE audio? not that this is a solution, i'm just gathering info. yes or no?>channel configi assume you're on the input config setting? click over to output config, set it to your desired output (PC speakers, i assume)i can't remember what DAW you said you were using, but have you tried emailing customer support and basically telling them what you told us? it takes a few emails back and forth, but it's usually paid off for me>monitoringall you kids these days. gotta hear your fancy guitar tone in real-time.i record DOG-NASTY-RAW-STYLE. >only click track in headphones>no monitoring>one side of the headphones off so i can listen to my guitar/bass while i recordthat's how you become a studio-freak like me. if you wanna hear yourself, buy an amp and jam out in your bedroom. recording is for getting shit DONE. not listening to yourself play.
>>131564210these are the driver types, the mme directx lets me hear myself but there's a delay. and then asio when i first got it was working perfectly i could hear myself without any lag it was awesome, then they had an update to fuck everything up. i only got into recording because someone i knew wanted to make music with me and they wanted me to buy a interface, so i got the cheapest one, but it looks like it was just a waste of money, i've always hated recording software, the first i ever tried was logic back in like 2013 and all the tone options sounded like shit i was gonna need to record the amp with a mic or something which wasn't an option at the time since i was a teenager, ever since then i've hated recording. i was changing my mind with this since i got abelton for free, (i used some dudes account to download a copy) but yeah recording just seems like wasting money to me, i was perfectly fine playing by myself with an amp. i do want to make the daw and recording thing work though since i already spent the money and i'm broke i want to get my money's worth, but i'm annoyed. i hate HATE HATE recording software, there's always an issue with it, the programmers of all recording software are retarded, they make this shit not work out the box, you gotta download random off brand drivers to not have input lag, they're subhumans that can't just make shit work out the box, why the fuck would you make software that needs third party drivers to function properly? i hate recording, my retarded mind is not cut out to have to battle a software any time i want to play something.
>>131564210i finally fixed the problem, i had to ask googles AI and show it pictures and shit and it had me mess with my audio settings for a bit and eventually it worked. like i said i hate recording software, it's always a fight just to hear yourself with a good tone.
