the first jazz record release was some corny larping white guys from NY. that doesn't mean jazz doesn't originate decades earlier in New Orleans from black musicians.DJ Kool Herc was the first hip hop dj, but I don't think he ever even put out a record. the first record with rapping on it was Fatback, a funk group, with a guest rapper, "King Tim III Personality Jock." neither of them invented rapping nor hip hop music.first publishing doesn't mean shit.
