not just rock music but music in general, the thing about new york is that artists used to be able to live there and make a living on their art, but new york became impossible to live in for poor people so now its filled with no talent riche people.when i was growing up new york was a cultural mecca, like, it was ground zero for america artistic and cultural output, only California rivaled it.even with hip hop all the rappers want to be from atlanta now, not new york, not even california.there was a certain aura to new york, a certain coolness, but then new york became a boring tourist trap
