Zen Arcade probably wins just because of how expansive (as you said) it is. In the middle of it there's just randomly the sickest hardcore 7" ever with Pride, I'll never forget you, and the biggest lie. There's just so many little chunks like that that stand alone but somehow the whole thing flows so well. Most underrated track on there is "whatever" IMO, insanely good songwriting.It took me longer than it should have to get around to husker du but when I did I listened to nothing but them and the replacements for like 2 months. It's a different vibe but if you haven't heard the first 3 replacements records I'd get those asap. Sorry ma is essential

If you are into actual music, quality song writing, and you like to think for yourself, pop on Flip Your Wig, and maybe wash it down with a listening of Warehouse. Surely, 1 Bob Mould, can't be wrong...

Husker Du is actually really good but this is their worst album, and unless you are into like noise or extreme metal, there's not much appeal to it outside of it's historical signifance. Just because they were one of the first to do it doesn't mean it's good. Too punk for punk and still not rock enough, makes it alternative, but in a bad way. Alternative because it has no where to go, not because it has a place to be. Flip Your Wig is volumes better than this tripe. Fuck Grant Hart.
