Day 1 OG listener here. Sematary's still got it, some songs aren't as great, but pretty much all of his tracks end up clicking eventually just like Still Achin' I didn't really dig it, but now I do it's cool.Here's the part that will upset people. Ghost coming back has been....underwhelming. Apollon was great n all and dark harvest was cool, but man...October Country...whew... what a stinker. It had it's moments, but never any meat to chew on like sematary tracks how they hit hard as fuck, ghost doesn't really have that. He's much better at the more odd dark mystery stuff like on apollon, but he fails to re-reach those heights on subsequent tracks, hell, not 1 song from october country is in his top 10 on spotify and it's his only album.Him coming back and having more freedom and feeling like co-ceo is cool and all, but his work feels all imagery with little to no real substance. This song once again showcases how he is just better off as the Sematary sidekick, but still for some reason, it's off. How come none of his writing ever since coming back feels anywhere near as good as it did before? I heard something about Sematary ghost writing for ghost on the earlier tapes, and I feel that may be true because Ghost now with total free reign on his lyrics is just NOWHERE near as good. There's no way you can sit there with a straight face and tell me that any of his recent work beats the old stuff, cause it just doesn't. Bunny suit, Fury Road 2, Broken Angel Hospital, Coil, Tourniquet, Funeral, really? It's like an okay indie-pop album, but it's not haunted mound at all. Ghost lyrics are lacking as hell. Songs like Kismet, The Lake, and Familiar Stranger are some of the worst songs out of the mound by far. He's 100% watered down his lyrics since coming back. He used to actually go hard like on Louisville Slugger or Hogs, but now dude just talks about pumpkins, barns, and pitchforks, on artsy beats but nothing else to really back it. It's just kinda... bland. Outlast has been the first thing he's released since Apollon that actually feels like it has any life in it.
