At the peak of his career he had a lot of money and bought some huge mansion in the UK. That's probably most of his wealth.But these estimations are probably inflated. For example Cobain's estate is worth 450 million but his daughter only gets like 100 000 bucks per month and is at most a millionaire (about 10m worth).So I doubt he has that money. It might include what he could get if he sold all the rights to his catalog and his mansion etc.
