>random album from 2005 sounds more futuristic than anything made in 2026how did we allow this to happen
>>131670447Let’s be real, the second they make their decades-in-the-making custom max music generation program publicly available, there literally won’t be any point in making music anymore. Be grateful they’re gatekeeping it this hard
Autechre has always been ahead of everything, only literal brainrotted brainlets don't acknowledge this.https://youtu.be/JSpS3TFS3P0?is=8X4RYLoZH7wQt-ZA
>>131670447He tried to warn us
>>131670447Because they are tryhard as fuck and after most of their discography released people realised you can’t get much weirder so just focused on making more grounded but listenable music
>>131670447i'm an autechre fan actually but i disagree that their music doesn't sound dated.i've heard a remix of confield on youtube which sounded fresher than their 2000s work:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPVrANPwZ2I
A couple decades ago the future seemed bright and promising so a "futuristic sound" from that time would obviously be better than the grim future we can only envision now.
To me autechre sounds futuristic in the same way that old Sci fi movies are futuristic. Their glitchy bleep bloop IDM to me is the sound of the early computer age, where your PC made a strange sound when you put a disc in it. But it isn't really futuristic anymore. Something like the last OPN album sounds more futuristic to me.
>>131672976opn is retro slop
>>131672633>the future seemed bright and promisingNah just the marketing did
>>131673057Depends which album, but the last album surprised me with a few very interesting tunes that don't fit into the usual "hauntology" thing. And it wasn't the best example of super futuristic music, just wanted to give a comparison on something current that sounds at least more futuristic to me than glitchy Idm. And no shade on autechre I do still like them, just doesn't sound super futuristic anymore to me.
innovative IDM music is still being done, but it comes from third world nowadaysListen to Lechuga zafiro for examplehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iliPdOE6lgE
Unironically at the top of the game from Day 1https://youtu.be/M70jmp-RCeY
>>131671986Wallpaper music. 5/10 + a yawn
>>1316735565/10 joke. Try better.
>>131674902No, I wasn't joking
Great album. They don't make 'em like this no more
>>131673088>something current that sounds at least more futuristic to me than glitchy Idmwhat are these songs?

>dude painful scrapey metal noises the sound of the future
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvW6qiTkZdwthis shits on anything autechre have ever done
>>131677487>>131674912>>131673556>>131672469Filtered
>>131677522It's just a broken loop with some detuning that goes on for 24 minutes.
>>131670447Autechre is the reason I got into electronic music production in the first place and now because of the rabbit hole that led me down I can't really be bothered to listen to other people's music anymore. I just build highly elaborate algorithms in Max/MSP and let them play out for as long as I want. I can't go back to, like, Daft Punk after that. It sucks.
>>131679703I have zero experience with DAWs so I tried to do the same with hardware. You can get some quirky glitchy stuff done very easily these days, but to actually get anywhere close to the Autechre zone I feel it's mandatory to paste this onto some kind of grid where you can manipulate it into anything worth calling interesting.
>>131673556>>131674912>Wallpaper musicThat doesn't exist.
>>131677454it doesn't sound futuristic and those edmk eyboards in the vein of aviici or david ghetta aged like milkthe song sounds like a watered down goa progressive techno
>>131670447This is futuristic sounding to you? There's something about that "crunchy" production style (I'm not really sure how else to describe it) that sounds really dated to me. Maybe it's just me though
>>131681263He's right that it sounds more futuristic than Autechre though. His original post is spot on about their sound
>>131681672No, it doesn't lol
>>131670447I thought this shit was like 2013 by autechre standards, imagine my surprise when I looked it up and realized it was 2005absolute masters of their craft. no one else even comes close.their 2022 live sets are some of the greatest music they've ever put out. The barcelona one in particular.
>>131670447Their best work
>>131686992No
autechre sounds like futuristic mars toilet dumps anyone could make autechre in a pirated daw anywhos confield will be played at my funeral
>>131686992>>131687547Yes
>>131686992This is basically the foundation that led to Elseq, which led to NTS Sessions which is the climax of their discography, so no, but it is their third best album and by far their biggest single revelation.
>>131688366>anyone could make autechre in a pirated dawI dare you to try it.
>>131688366>confield will be played at my funeralA man of taste. Their best album and it’s not even close
