In retrospect Pitchfork was based in the mid 2000s. I had friends who hated them since the late 90s, but now that everything is gay I’d take 2006 pitchfork than Anthony fagtano.

>>131686436Pitchfork reviews weren't any more deep than Anthony's whatsoever. They were merely glib, while Anthony is just boring. Additionally, the music they pushed was not actually interesting. Pitchfork created the illusion of counterculture, selling the dream of sophistication to a bunch of insecure yet narcissistic twerps. Its mission became all about Christening the unpopular Alternative music acts, to give these untalented losers some sense of superiority that'd make them buy even more into this rag. Almost nobody Pitchfork promoted ever became part of the popular/mainstream Alternative. Counting pure indie, you have like Grimes and Mac Demarco to a lesser extent, and that's it.
