This week, I am going to listen to and try to get into Tonight.
>>131693353Huge Bowie fan here, the album is shit. The first song Loving The Alien is actually great but the rest is basically cocktail lounge cover song slop
Loving the Alien is a great song and also a great euphemism for wanking
>>131693882>>131694395OP here - 'Alien' indeed great, can't believe I haven't heard it before. 'Don't Look Down' - prefer Iggy's version. It's OK, not great. This cover of 'God Only Knows' is awful. Think I'll save the rest of the album for tomorrow.
>>131694479It doesn't get much better, but you may think Blue Jean is alright
Black Tie White Noise was pretty good, underrated
>>131696328people go out of their way to shit on it or call it forgettable. while it's a lot more low energy than most bowie releases, that early 90s electronic sound he captures is sweet. kind of baggy sounding? not sure what you'd call the kind of music it is, but it's nice.
>>131693882>>131694395he rearranged it for acoustic guitar during the Reality tour and it sounds p kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KiafrKoYvk>>131696328It's a good album, people just like playing contrarian for no reason
>>131693353it's not completely worthless. I like loving the alien, blue jean and neighborhood threat.>>131696328it's just too long. he should have cut like 3 songs>>131696349yeah I don't know. the title track is like funk pop and don't let me down and down is maybe contemporary R&B or pop soul, but I don't know what to call songs like "jump they say" and "night flights". I have both this album and earthling tagged as "alternative dance" on my computer but it really only fits earthling.
Cool album art wasted on a bad album. Many such cases.
>>131696349I see BTWN as being Let's Dance 2, instead of fusing dance with blues/rnb it's with 90s electronica. Good album though
