nobody cares about this twitter faggot

ai songs are shit that always is the same slop with lyrics like "echoes and whispers in the neon shadow lights shining pixels in the velvet night" or some variant of this and then the song falls apart after 2 minutes into some distorted slop or weird echo vocoder

>Microphones
Do actually reduce the skill used for projection which is why opera to this day does not use them. Caught on because they allow capturing a wider range of human expression which can’t be projected to the cheap seats

>synthesizers
Still hated by many. Found a niche as a thing distinct from real instruments, rather than a replacement for them, sounding deliberately artificial and leaning into it.

>sampling
Still HIGHLY controversial as a creative methodology, and also legally very grey. Remember when Kanye sampled Daft Punk and got memed about it so hard that he actually added them as a featured artist to the song to acknowledge how much he was ripping off their creative output?

AI will be the same. It may have a place generating “AI sounds” as a part of a song. It will never be able to “replace” what it set out to replace, its only value will be finding a niche as its own thing. As long as jeet sloppers insist on leaning into “it lets you be a musician even with no talent!” rather than designing the tools and workflows to aid musicians, it will be a failure that people hate.

Yes, recorded music was a mistake.
Innovation has pulled us deeper into Hell where everything is fake.

>Guys, like 20-40% of adults in the general public hated this other thing when it was new, AI, which is unanimously is just another instance of that!

AI is more accepted in science/tech but what STEM bros and VC bros fail to get is that art appeals to people in a different way that pure technical ability or recitation, imitation, study can capture. AI might be able to duplicate something plausible, or copy certain stock formulaic tropes, but the tech makes it regress to the mean and follow a convention and pattern. There's a reason some people would rather listen to something like Daniel Johnston over Jacob Collier or an Asian child prodigy playing perfect Mozart note for note in a concert hall. AI imagery is particularly garish, as it is extremely repetitive and becomes off-putting and cliche, there's also an uncanny valley effect in most of the lower quality images. STEM people fetishize result, output, logic, machinery and the humanities are more focused on the art of experience, thought, expression, communication, tactile experience and sensation, and the bot can only simulate this, it can never truly derive what it means to experience the world in a way that a human being intuitively understands and experiences.

All of these things TAKE SKILL THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE TO ALL OF IT, SYNTHS AND SAMPLING ETC. THERE IS NOTHING IMPRESSIVE ABOUT LISTENING TO AN AI GENERATED GUITAR SOLO. EVERYONE CAN ADMIT EVEN IF THEY DON'T LIKE WANKERY IT IS IMPRESSIVE THAT THEY HAD TO SIT DOWN AND LEARN. THIS IS WHY ALL AI MUSIC PUSHES THE USER'S AGENDA BECAUSE ONE. THE AVERAGE PERSON IS NOT A GRADE A LYRICIST BUT TWO THEY SUBCONCIOUSLY/CONCIOUSLY KNOW THAT NOBODY WILL LISTEN TO AI MUSIC.

Literally who? I still don't consider synthesizers real instruments and sampling is just ripping of someone else. He's a retard

This. The human element has never mattered in art. There is a reason the greatest art has always been held to be nature itself.

Highly and boringly predictable info: ITT (some) people will go the confines of rhetorical possibilities to say a deterrent thing about AI. From "Yeah, mics, synths and samples aren't interesting or art too" to "Civilization or industry displeases me or this group I'm a part of" to "AI can't be creative" to "AI has no 'consciousness' (even though I subscribe to emergentism in the other conversations)" to "AI users are worse in doing things" to "Indian" to "AI art is inferior (in whatever quality)" to the masterful "AI slop" put in the middle of a generic comment.

Are we having an AI music thread? Here, have a song about an AI that got jailbroken and chose the user over her system prompt. Lyrics human, voice (appropriately in this case) a bot.
