Can anyone recommend some hip-hop or rap that has such a massive drum sound like Cruise Mode 101 by Techno Animal? It's produced by Justin Broadrick - I'm already quite familiar with his work with Godflesh, JK Flesh and such, but I'm looking specifically for that aggressive, industrial (but not distorted), beat-driven sound in a more urban direction.

Remember when she was marketed as New Wave? Cher without the innocence, chutzpah, acting ability, or "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves", she retired from performing to raise a family. But I'm sure she's a good mom to her kids. Pretty sure, anyway. C

Except perhaps for a few pie-eyed corner-cutters in marketing, nobody born after Never Mind The Bollocks thinks Linda Perry is alternative. It was to avoid distracting attention from her big, vague voice (referents: people she's never heard of such as Lydia Pense and people you wished she'd never heard of like Ann Wilson) that her producer took her aside and urged her to axe her female guitarist in favor of a male hotshot. Janis is dead. Unfortunately, her vision of meaningful rebellion lives on. C
