One of my favorite bands.
>>
not in particular, no

Based, although of all the ones I've listened to, it's probably my least favorite, simply because I don't like punk rock. Still love some of their songs, though.

Throughout the years you can hear them slowly transitioning away from traditional hardcore punk to what I can best describe as very energetic folk rock.
It all culminated with the fully acoustic Teaтpъ дeмoнa in 2010. Its sound alienated a lot of fans but I personally consider it kind of a hidden gem in their catalogue.

I'm gonna try listening to it. I tried listening to their older songs but there's too many, and kinda gave up.

Why not?

Би-2 is awesome. Kino is cool, I remember listening to Gruppa Krovi with my buddy and his Russian dad started talking about how deep the title song is. anyone going to see their shows on their November US tour? apparently the original members will play to Victor Tsoi's vocal tracks, interested to see how that'll go. also love Splean

Tsoi had the look, personality, tragic death and sole writing credit on all tracks. It would be like going to a Jimi Hendrix experience show without Jimi Hendrix.

I like BAU's music, but their lyrics are a complete ass.

What's your source on this?

I have Russian friend who loves Russian rock and he always complains that the chicks nowadays only listen to "shitty Russian hip hop". Apparently it's kind of a boomer thing.

I know because I live there. In mid-late 00's there used to be decent ska and emo scenes (both died in early 10's together with subcultures), other than that listening to domestic rock music has always been seen as some sort of masochism. Like, I can't name a single notable rock band from the last 15 years, local radio stations don't play anything either. The guy I know is running a metal band and while I'm proud of him (they sound decent as far as I can tell), they have a very small following and I'm worried he will always remain unnoticed simply because the type of music they play is not in demand.

Ok, that makes sense. That was a stupid question, I guess.
