How will this board cope with the inevitable singularity in music?
Use the clanker to create a bioweapon targeting Indians and the autistic
i honestly should've seen coming that the board that constantly complains about how modern music is all soulless and boring would turn around and suck up to computer generated AI slop to idk own the libs or something

I am not kidding. https://nicksaraev.com/quit-treating-music-like-drugs/
>>131716178Can I program AI to filter out pajeets from my feed?
I simply won't be listening
Lol, did you see that somehow the first edition of this thread (that's the third attempt) was limbo'd in such a way that you can't even find it on desuarchive deleted posts? You hit an interesting spot unveiling one more part of this site's functioning. AI is so inferior and resolved that if you open a thread to discuss it you get impeded in a method that baleets even its trail.
>>131716178People like this are worthless and should be euthanized
>>131716292A lot of people, especially older demographics, don't care how the hotdog is made. My mom listens to AI music on facebook all the time. She even recently started spending hours watching AI generated dramas which have like 50 million views on facebook as well. All of which are made by some guy in Pakistan or something. It's a phenomenon I've found others online complaining about their parents doing as well. I've seen some posts saying their 30 something year old GFs do it too. When I ask my mom why she watches this shit when she pays for multiple streaming channels (like a good goy) she just freaks the hell out and says she doesn't care if a real person made it or not. I'm sorry to say but the only people who give a shit about how the hotdog is made are hotdog enthusiasts. Casual hotdog eater couldn't give less of a poop.
>>131716308You mean that AI music is always paid or what? Because if you're talking about production cost it's never really zero no matter if you're financially stable to be able to not charge money from people. But if you're talking about the product/service price, then in a google search right now you find some free AI music maker models already. And that's for ordering it, because obviously much music that already exist you can just listen to for free where they were released or shared like on youtube or whatever, just like any other music.
>>131717381humans are worthless
>>131717381Your mom is just uneducated, lots of old folk actually use their brain
>>131717381I support AI generated hotdogs because nobody nowadays really eats real food anyway. The casual hotdog consumers will not care but the faggots who used to consume hotdogs while pretending they have standards will be hurt by this the most. As a steak enthusiast, the entire industry being taken over by AI hotdogs when it was nothing but hotdogs the past decades anyway makes no difference to me.
>>131716178Oh look, it's this thread again. Totally organic.
forget being human, let the computer do that for you
I don't totally share this tweet's opinion and never even saw this term "luddite" being used with this meaning before reading some recent discussion on forums, and find this opinion maybe exaggerated, but I don't get the point of being angry at AI online. If you don't please or get interest in AI art, you can not have it to you, and if you imagine future suffering anywise caused by it, you can talk about it in a sincere, serious way, not in a diagonal way, feigning disdain. You can always comment something offhand fancying a reply, but to me it ends up seeming like you're trying to create an artificial atmosphere of general criticism out of the force of a ten of comments. When I read these cursings I get confused and make an expression and gesture like in picrel, like "What are you even trying to do in relation to this?"
>>131717381young people stopped making music or caring about how it is made 30yrs ago. boy bands and female britney spears acts all had their music made by a bunch of swedish producers on a computer. rap is nothing buy samples from old song. thats what the youth have been listening to and enjoying and copying for 3 decades now. nobody plays any instruments or creates any actual music
>>131718443i think a lot of the frustration comes from the forceful nature in which AI has been flooded into everyday online life. it wasn't even that long ago that we didn't have all of this AI nonsense in such an oversaturated manner.
20-30 great songs, 90% from my own simple 3-track melodies, no you can't hear them

>>131716185Kill yourself
>>131716178My issue is more that if I find a good song and it turns out to be AI slop, I now can't go down a rabbit hole of the artist's discography because they don't actually exist and their sound/style isn't consistent in a human way. AI music will never be on the level of musicians for that simple reason.
>>131716178I don't want "personalized" music though. the whole appeal of an artist is that they are making what they want to make, not what I as the fan wants.
>>131720133This, the joy of music is discovering new sounds from artists and expanding your taste, not being served endless "personalized" slop that compartmentalizes you.

>>131720133>>131720167Cringe retard take. Throughout all of history art was made for the patron according to his tastes. The artist serves the patron, not the other way around.

>>131716178The true redpill is accepting the fact that music is essentially a dead medium.
Listen to this and tell me there's literally no soul in it.https://youtu.be/JITcrQ8OIrI
>music is le dead>ai can perfectly replicate any genre Kek retards who say this fundamentally don't understand music. Music literally stays relevant by constantly evolving and inventing and reinventing itself, something that ai cannot do independently without feeding on new content. That's the main reason why the current form of AI will never catch up with music
>>131723267It's degenerate entertainment, aka slop
>>131723289>Music literally stays relevant by constantly evolving and inventing and reinventing itselfYeah, except it's not really doing that anymore. For the most part, any hint of originality that still exists is because of genres being mashed together in a schizophrenic hodgepodge. We're not even producing groundbreaking sounds with new technology anymore. There may be a little life left in the medium, but it won't be long before it's dead as a doorknob.
Reminder that women WILL shame you for listening to legacy music made by real humans because it's "weird"
>>131723445>Yeah, except it's not really doing that anymore.Maybe because you stopped listening to music, and now assume it stopped doing that like a brainless retard >We're not even producing groundbreaking sounds with new technology anymore.t. Never listened to electronic music
AI generated music is a great way for streaming services to strong arm music labels out of their market by replacing their music with AI generated tracks they don't have to split the profits for.Now imagine labels following suit and replacing their roster of real musicians with AI generated versions of their most famous legacy bands.Imagine labels releasing officially AI generated Black Sabbath songs with Ozzy Osbourne AI vocals. AC/DC's 34th album, fully AI generated. Another Iron Maiden album that is fully generated while Bruce Dickinson is wasting away from dementia in some retirement home.Boomers will lap this shit up
>>131723540First of all, you need to settle down, champ.>t. Never listened to electronic musicIt's the main genre I listen to.Mark Fell and his son, Rian Treanor, are doing some interesting things, but their recent albums aren't exactly breaking new ground - at least not the way Autechre did during the late 90s/early 2000s, or how the Detroit Techno crew did in the early 90s. Ozcan Sarac is also doing some interesting things but, like Fell, he's not blowing anyone's mind who's familiar with the genre. There are a few other artists I'd consider to be on the cutting edge, but the standards for "cutting edge" these days are pretty low.
>>131723649watch out anon, they're going to call you a tranny
>>131718443the problem is these stembro autists who have no sense of taste or artistic thinking try to impose their generic slop and want the status of being an "artist" without respecting the craft at all, and then simultaneously fantasize about "replacing" art with their tacky shit
>>131716344>he very first blog page he published in 2019, he wrote about how we need to "Quit Treating Music Like Drugs"These are the same retards that are pushing for AI music by the way. Why the fuck did these autists even choose this as their special interest when they clearly hate music? What problems are AI art even trying to solve?
>>131716234Dunno Suno generated some pretty catchy songs for me, I was like ''an artist could copy the chord progression/synth patch/guitar tone of this song, switch up the lyrics and they'd have a banger''. I suspect that's what happening already actually
>>131724598they want the status and "rockstar" lifestyle fantasy >>131716344AI in general seems to attract people who are purely results oriented, either hustlebro grindset type guys who are always looking for a get rich quick scheme (former NFTbros) or nerds who think everything can be reduced to a math problem and pure logic/rationalism. This guy seems to be the former>From a birds eye view, I am: A tech optimist: I think that salvation lies in technological growth, and that continuing to build on the advancements of our forefathers will solve most of our problems (including things like the environment, our current political enmity, population concerns, etc). A socialite: I'm great at meeting people, delivering talks, and building relationships. I'm usually referred to as "outgoing", and my friends/associates are often impressed at how easily I strike up conversations with strangers. An opportunist: Although I like to think that my career choices have been deliberate and well-planned, most of my successes involve me stumbling on, and then taking advantage of, short term opportunities. In simple terms, I act first, and figure things out later. >Developer, entrepreneur, and AI leader, Nick Saraev has taught millions of people how to implement AI across organizations for the betterment of tomorrow.kek what a faggot With art there's a lack of understanding of technique or composition, there's no connection to the emotive state of the performer, and it results in illogical or unsettling outputs because its at its core a computer program referencing a data set to try and approximate or simulate something.
>>131724700this guy is a literal grifter selling "how to ai" courses on youtube and unironically calls himself a socialitesage
>>131724700>kek what a faggotIt gets worse. This guy is a complete loser, he's spent half a decade on SEO to make himself seem more notable than he actually is. He's accomplished absolutely nothing of note in his 5 years of online presence. And I doubt he's even capable of writing a blogpost anymore without resorting to a AI prompt. This goes beyond your average pretentious faggot, this guy is probably a fullblown narcissist. What AI is going to attract are podcast hack types like you said, people with cardboard personalities who want to be the main character without knowing how to actually put effort into it. In any other decade they'd just be a cult leader instead
i was born in the wrong generation
>>131719577>My issue is more that if I find a good song and it turns out to be AI slop, (...)What was there in that specific song that you first called a good song and afterward called "AI slop" that made you consider it "slop"? Is it the fact that it was a robot that made it so it's something like "all music by robots is slop" or was there something else in specific?>(...) I now can't go down a rabbit hole of the artist's discography because they don't actually exist and their sound/style isn't consistent in a human way. AI music will never be on the level of musicians for that simple reason. That is, there is a human way of sound/style consistency that the AI song(s) you heard didn't have and also that AI music could not and will never have?
I'm sorry but if you can't identify AI music after 20 seconds of listening then you might be sub-100 IQ
>>131724967I'm sorry but if AI music bothers you in concept you just prove you were never about the music.
>>131716178you have to understand that the average bay area tech poster barely knows what music is, they recognize that it sounds kind of like whatever was playing at the one party they were ever invited to and that's enough for them to say AI has surpassed humans
>>131720133>I don't want "personalized" music though. You probably don't personalize ordered music, but you personalize the music input to your ears. Differences in music enjoyment exist, and the two ways of having what you enjoy more is either filtering non-ordered music or having music that was directly ordered. Ordering is generally either hard to do or pointless, because you don't know about music making to order and because you may want to explore unknown possibilities, respectively. But you don't need to order the full final music. You can order it to have some characteristics and leave it free to make the rest. Or change what you want from some finished music. I agree that most people won't use this feature mentioned on the tweet in a strict way a lot, at the beginning. But the tweet's point is probably the opening of the possibility itself, not necessary its instant actuality in the general public, in which you are.
>"AI music is the future wowee zowee it's so fucking cool and futuristic and so much better and imperceptible from real people"fucking lmao, idiots like this have no idea about how music actually works. it's an inherently social art form. case in point you can't go attend an AI concert live.and inb4 "pop music fans will fall for this" well pop music fans will fall for anything, they're also idiot cattlereal musicheads are going to shitty gigs for bands that sound like shit from a butt on a recommendation from the lamest-coolest guy you've ever fucking smelled, and the musicians there are checked out and high as fuck and yet it still it's still an experience worth paying money for, whereas AI music is cheap and dismissable. at the end of the day AI bros are just antisocial virgins
>>131725483I think it is more how they engage with music. They see it as that thing you put in the background while you do other things. So the idea of music being something you pay attention to is foreign to them so the idea of AI being able to create an endless supply of background noise is easy to imagine. It isn't just music, but pretty much everything vaguely artistic that isn't related to work. They brag about listening to audio books at 1.5-2x speed because the normal speaking voice is too slow.
>>131725523Its been a while since I've read this much cringy braindead bullshit.
