I smoked weed a handful of times with friends in high school, but I was 20 the first time I actually called up a dealer, bought some, and smoked by myself.

That night I wrote, recorded, produced an entire original song. Played all of the instruments, sang harmonies. Listening back the next day I was astounded because it was actually good - 16 years later, to this day one of the best things I've ever produced. I actually spammed it (among other stuff) quite often here on /mu/ back in 2010 and had some clout with you basket weavers.

I've been chasing that high, quite literally, ever since.

Weed actually does help. In fact, there is a rare disorder that causes some people to produce too much Anandamide (From Sanskrit Ananda meaning "Joy", "Euphoria", or "Bliss") which is the bodies natural analog of T.H.C. and they've been found to have reduced to no stress levels. Weed dilates your blood vessels (that's why it makes your eyes red), which causes your blood pressure to drop and your heart rate to go up in response, which can cause a stress response in some people, but in my experience, it goes away pretty easily if you understand what's happening and learn to enjoy the high (and being stoned after the initial high).
imo I personally love the rush of euphoria though, it lets me know it's working and that I got good, strong shit. Joe Rogan once said that's his favorite part about being high FWIW
