And now-now when I go, you can all talk about me again. Please do.
Nu metal is metal
>>131747791Okay it's also still shit so who cares
So is Progressive metal allowed here since /prog/ won't accept it
>>131747814no cos its shit and gay, like /prog/ where it belongs
>>131747814Sure, but people are still going to call you gay.
>>131747814Gay
>>131747828>>131747876So progressive Metal needs its own entire thread while there are prog and metal discussions going on because it doesnt fit your shockingly narrow definition of metal
>>131747954Really it just needs to be mocked and ridiculed as the homosexual dogshit it is, so a dedicated thread to that would be a nice streamlined way to do that.
>>131747954Or you could just not be a pussy, post it here anyways and roll with the punches. Do you really want to be like the cowards on /trad/?
finding a good prog metal band is as rare as finding a girl on a dating app that isn't a whore
>>131747954Or just post it and stop caring about that shit, pussy bitch boy
I know there is a very reddit chungus view of le wholesome metalheads that can be very cringe, but I have genuinely found people at metal concerts to be very easy to get on with.Made several friends just by first noticing a band shirt and saying 'great/sick/awesome band' etc.Worst thing I've ever experienced is being ignored by someone who obviously doesn't want to talk.Blog post over.
Prog is the best metal sub genre
>>131747954>>131747968New Sigh just came out and no one talked about itI thought this general liked them
>>131748075It has to balance heaviness and complexity, and heaviness is usually sacrificed in this balancing act, but when an album has both it really fucking hits.Opeth come to mind.
>>131748089Opeth were the first band that hot me into heavier music so I still have soft spot for them
Megadeath > Metallica >>>>>>>>>> Slayer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anthrax
>>131747954We like prog here, just not shitty proge that rips off Dream Theater or Meshuggah
>>131748098Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries are still top tier imo my opinion. I used them as an example of a band who both manage AND fail to pull off the balancing act.
Come up with a genre, but don't use google to see if it exists, just say it.I'll start: Doom n' Roll
>>131748120NS Doom Metal
