I just found out Madonna's Ray of Light has surged in popularity among later zoomers and they think it was of similar contemporary cultural significance as Michael Jackson's Thriller. Can someone explain what caused this?
>>
Only "people" who unironically actively listen to garbage like Madonna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga etc. are faggots are trannies. To normal people this trash was always just the music they heard played on mainstream radio before they changed it to a different station

can you provide evidence of your claim?

Fuck you, Madonna is great as far as pop stars go.

How's your prolapsed anus? Do you already experience problems with continence or can you still hold your poop?

Where did you see this happen?

What did normal people in the 80s listen to on the radio instead?

This has always been considered her best albumeven though it's just her trying to sound like Bjork

My mom doesn't like Madonna but she likes the song Frozen

Ray of Light [Maverick, 1998]
pretty sensual for pop enlightenment, thank God ("Skin", "Candy Perfume Girl") **

Yeah but young people today did not grow up hearing Madonna on the radio. I had never heard most of Madonna's music until I listened to her albums as an adult.

>>131779230
even 80s playlists at the supermarket don't seem to play her for some reason

>>131778273
Probably some tiktoker made an idm list and put this on

If you mean those Clear Channel 80s song lists, they don't play Madonna or MJ because they'd cost too much to get the rights to their songs. I guess Dire Straits and Heart are cheaper.
>>
She became completely unlistenable after this album, it's weird
>>
Should've died right after this album came out
>>
>>131779276
Same with 50s ones. No Elvis, it's too expensive to get the rights to his songs.

Music (2000), American Life (2003), Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005) and MDNA (2012) are all essential Madonna albums.

Hard Candy (2008), Rebel Heart (2015) and Madame X (2019) never should have been released and are stains on her legacy.
>>
It's her only good album. People assume because she's been around for 50 years there's gotta be more to her and this is pretty much the only thing of value she's done.
>>
Trannys also consider that shitty Cher song to be "genre defining" for ((((hyperpop)))) and one of the best pop songs of all time. Madonna is fucking terrible, the one "star" I will never understand the fascination with

Zoomers and late millenials are craving for y2k sounds after almost 20 years of 80s nostalgia dominance. It's not rocking science.

RIP to a legend btw.
>>
>>131779597
I wasn't aware of the existence of any of these albums to be honest. The only thing I know she's done since the late 90s is that ABBA ripoff song or songs from the mid-00s.

>Madonna's Ray of Light
The boost was 100% because of William Orbit's death plus Madonner has been in the news for being a diaperfag.

Music [Maverick, 2000]
Anybody who denies that Madonna made great singles in the '80s is a boob. Run all together on The Immaculate Collection, they constitute the greatest album of her mortal life. But except for the debut, the albums per se from that period strove for schlock when they didn't stoop to filler. In the early '90s, she essayed great longforms--an ambition that presupposes good songs while cultivating consistency and flow. Then she got scared and discovered God, two not unrelated experiences that rendered her great singles and good songs more middlebrow. So rejoice that from Vocoder to cowgirl suit, she's got her sass back. Pretending to be cheap, she sometimes--as on my favorite moment, the processed-munchkin hook of the perfectly entitled "Nobody's Perfect"--really is cheap, which is essential to the illusion. All the songs are good, all chintzy. Which combo provides just the right consistency and flow. A

Oh god, Bob what are you doing! THAT IS AUTOTUNE ON THERE!!!

Post 80's bob really sucked ass

It's either Music or Confessions on a Dance Floor.
>>
>>131778273
Its almost like she forced the mainstream to accept EDM and in effect causes a new sound of Pop for the 2000s. Hearing something like Grimes new album you have to hear a lot of Ray of Light in there.

American Life was trash, actually worse than those other three stains.
