Production based around distorted samples of golden age hip-hop and obscure gospel tunes. The production is essentially Black vaporwave while the reverb on the vocals and ghastly, drifting features that pop in and out has that effect too. Not to mention the insane list of guests gives it a unique time capsule appeal, like it's the last gasp of the monoculture.

Not really, I'd say it's appropriately rated as one of the only truly sui generis and defining 2010s records and works of art from that decade. Zoomers widely consider it Kanye's best while older fans and the general public consider it his last classic before his brain turned into pudding that documented him on the brink of his sanity.

Maybe it's an age thing but for older zoomers and younger millennials like myself 2016 was the last "good" year where people were generally in a good mood, happy, and optimistic for the future and TLOP really feels like a musical capstone for that year. People listen to it and remember better days
