The regular power boosts he got from harvesting Brian's life force are gone and this is what becomes of him.

The Beach Boys in 2026 is basically Jesse & the Rippers occasionally featuring Mike Love.
>>
>>131808400
is he addicted to fent now? whats going on
>>
>>131808922
he's 85 years old dude
>>
>>131808400
I dont care what anyone says thats cool as shit. Dude is basically a zombie and living the rock and roll lifestyle on stage with John Stamos. That's the fucking way to go out.

He should take health advice from Bob Dylan

i fucking love the guitarist trying to bring back Mike to life.
Honestly i truly believe that concertgoers there dont care about the band or music and just go to fit in or some shit

also Mike's voice is gone and he can't sing anymore, all that comes out is a faint wheeze

I've said this before and I will say this again, weed must truly be the secret to longevity because it seems like the most lively old people in music either are or were at one point a stoner. Just look at Willie Nelson for Christ sake. Mike Love is too much of a straight edge boomer though
>>
Medically speaking, most age-related deterioration happens in the last 5 years preceding death. This is called terminal drop. That is to say whatever condition ultimately kills you begins to develop around 5 years before your demise.

Imagine being in a single successful band, and now that one band is what defines your entire identity for the rest of your life. You're now constantly being forced to listen to your own music, look at your own memorabilia, every single day for decades, the music, the same fucking music, always in your ear at every single concert you feel obligated to attend, either out of emotional obligation or financial, for decades, even as you slowly rot away in real time while everyone in the audience cheers you on as their personal dance monkey. Sounds like some twisted, ironic personal Hell.

I saw them 3 years ago in Cincinnati at the Hard Rock Casino. He was in a lot better shape but I knew the writing was on the wall when Bruce Johnston bailed. It’s a bummer because I didn’t have a dog in the Brian vs Mike shit. I just loved the band whatever iteration it was in. At least I got to see the 50th reunion in 2012.

if that anon's comment about terminal drop is true, then you can go from fit and sharp to dying in a pretty short time

it's Mike's fault. he wanted to be a corny oldies act and he got his wish.

ITT: people who've never been in a band

performing with unfamiliar musicians isn't as easy as it looks, he couldn't have the same chemistry with the Beach Boys he has with Keith and would probably butcher the performance.
>>
>>131810665
i don't want to die bros. i want to waste away the years of my physical and mental and sexual peak getting fat from extra cheese sausage pizza and 16 tall cans of pilsner every night while listening to live prog rock bootlegs and posting here with the heavy black out curtains covering the windows day and night.
>>
>>131812468
no you're wrong. Jaggers a poser Stones is all Keith who can successfully play and has played with other musicians even their sacred blacks. take a look at Jagger sitting in with anyone especially his sacred blacks and it is a fucking joke.
and playing with other musicians should be a simple and fun task. if you are a musician... not just a fraud poser propped up by english witchcraft ceremonies like M.Jagger
>>
>>131808599
Dennis didn't die gracefully, and Carl died of cancer. He was still a better performer than Mike when he had it though.

Tony was pretty fit and sharp until roughly 2019 and was kinda mentally out of it after that which fits with the idea that you start to close up shop a few years before you die.

this

willie lets the ganj bring its blessings as spiritual and physical medicines. saw him play the summer before my dad died. men need to stay active throughout their lives to avoid mike love's couchlock of death.
>>
>>131813131
>men need to stay active throughout their lives to avoid mike love's couchlock of death

what it means is Mike has been running on autopilot for decades and has never tried to challenge himself, he's been very very content on being a lame boomer oldies act for over 40 years. that's bad and rots out anyone's brain.
>>
>>131813217
The Beach Boys never really translated to Gen X like a number of their peers did. The Beatles, Stones, Cream, Doors etc were always cool but they were just those lame dads who appeared on Full House and were seen as a corny oldies slop act. Some of that was Mike's fault for deciding they shouldn't have evolved past 1965.
>>
>>131813268
partial credit. there is also a certain type of Gen X hipster who detests the entire 60s except for the Velvet Underground and the first Stooges album.
>>
>>131813268
to be fair they were not cool anymore by 1970 when they weren't even 30 yet. that's a bit too bad because some people are convinced their 66-77 output is a lot better than the corny surf rock hits.

Thankfully Buddy Guy seems somewhat solid still at 90.
>>
>>131812355
He definitely looks like he's 80 but he seems in pretty good health overall. Shit I saw him play with Brian 9 years ago and he seemed super energized for his age
>>
>>131813217
here you have Ozzy who fought harder with his Parkinson's, performed his final concert from his throne in an iconic goodbye to the world, and then you look over at Crippled and Feeble Mike Love with John Stamos gyrating ont him. Mike's looking like a Halloween animatronic the roadies forgot to plug in.
>>
85yo is a good run imo, some people don't even get to live to half of it, stupid the show still went through tbf
