This put them lightyears ahead of every single other ''grunge'' act out there. No Excuses is a miracle of song, so gorgeous. Too bad Jerry and the band never really got close to this alt country sound again.

For me it’s “Don’t Follow”
This is the perfect album to listen to in the fall. Sitting on huge front porch watching the leaves come down drinking a bourbon barrel stout. I will always throw this in when I’m tired of listening to Tom Waits

Out of all the dogshit 90s bands/albums that zoomers are rehabilitating, I'm glad this one is back, this album was pretty universally loved back in the day (although MTV overplayed the video for "i stay away")

There’s a very specific sort of millennial/zoomer that loves this album. They are white and live in middle America and work a shitty blue collar laborious job and drink 12 crappy beers like Busch Lite every day and love to wallow in their misery and larp as some troubled man who wasn’t cut out for this world. It’s gotten quite annoying. It’s like they took that one “no girlfriend, just work and go home” scene from True Detective and made it their whole personality. Older white guys used to live the same life and they weren’t as annoying. Probably cause they didn’t make videos on Instagram humblebragging about their concrete-pouring job.
