If you have listened to russian music, what do you think of it? And if not, what is your impression of it?
>>131817502I haveit's okay I guess

>>131817592Even as a Russian, I’m already forgetting who that is.You have good taste.
>>131817502I like Kino!
>>131817502I listened to this one on repeat during da coofs https://youtu.be/G591bCYgpi0
I wish i had russian friend to trade /mu/sic with but i know they would hate me because of normie politic reasons, oh well
Every now and then I'll blast some Russian rap when I'm drunk, including Kasta, Gribi, Toni Raut, Oxxxymiron, Miyagi and Andy Panda. I think it says a lot about the quality of the music when Angliskiy can enjoy it without understanding a word.Pic related is one of my favourite hardcore albums of all time.
Russians and italians are the only people capable of making good explicitly nazi hardcore.
>>131817886I’ve heard that the band Kino is popular everywhere, and you are proof of that
>>131817950Maybe our tastes are just too different, but I don't want to hear about dead drop
>>131818062I don't even want to know about the political views of someone who hangs out on 4chan
>>131818075I'm glad you have such idols, but I don't listen to rap myself
>>131818109For some reason, you can't opt out here
>>131818531I'm definitely not a rap fan; it's one of my least favourite genres. All I'm saying is, when I'm feeling loose, I sometimes vibe with the more goofy approach that some Russian rappers take, and the language sounds good to my ears. Take the win, you pancake.
>>131818538>In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two showed a KGB officer telling you "Turn back at once to Channel One."Yakov Smirnoff

>>131817502You're better at music than the Germans
I listen to enough where i have the russian keyboard on my phone to make it easier to look up songs but i never actually learned the language and only know the basic stuffIf anyone has recommendations for stuff like Yanka's noisy stuff i would be overjoyed
>>131819731I assume you mean Yanka Dyagileva? If you listen to her, you should also check out Egor Letov. In your case, it’s probably best to focus on his later period—for instance, the project "Eгop и Oпиздeнeвшиe" or the later work of "Гpaждaнcкaя oбopoнa"There is other Siberian punk music out there (such as "Чёpный лyкич"), but the ones I mentioned above are my personal favorites.
>>131819075maybe.

I feel alot of russian music is dadrock or disco inspired end of 80s pop, but there is all kinds if you look.

>The things I have listened toPretty good, I really like how they adopted hard bass and made it better>Impression of...I do not honestly know too much outside of the hardbass and rap-sphere. If they are like the Screamo and Emo-Revival playlists I have heard from there, then they are just like everyone else... Seriously my impression is just that; Their music is not different from "Western" to be quite honest, is my impression. The most varied I have heard from there, setting new standards even is Black Metal and Depressive Rock that is pretty hard to find for me after listening once because I cannot type in Cyrillic or even understand it at all. Anyway that is just a smaller opinion. And many of those playlists might also include countries that are former Soviet or just "Vassals" to the modern state of politics like Belarus or Chechnya or other such things
>>131817502It all fucking sucks. 100% of it
>>131822248even trololo?
>>131817502top tier classical music.good dance music.dogshit metal.>>131820517>western music but in a different languageit's ok if you speak russian but i don't understand people who listen to exactly the music they usually listen to except in a different language. maybe they think they have a lot of culture that way.
>>131822275Fuck, forgot about Hill. OK, 99.99999% of it
>>131820243oh yea I like letov and i absolutely love the Eгop и Oпиздeнeвшиe stuff it seems like them two are the largest figures in that genre

ive probably listened to picrel more than any single other compilation of music. would love to learn this stuff some day, i know some bits from the poor branch (since its played on a 6 string in standard tuning unlike most) but havent really tried muchhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvwDL73w7Lw
>>131823206Nice. Good shit.
>>131820517Thanks, but my internet connection currently only allows for a translator and 4chan
>>131822053It’s interesting that almost all the English speakers I’ve met listen to rap in one form or another
>>131822248Honestly, I can't even be bothered to argue with you
>>131822289I think people are just interested in the sound of another language, don't you?

>>131830173They have better baroque mainly because Russian baroque (music) isn't a thing.
>>131818846>In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propagandaare you trying to tell me it's different now?
>>131827740then i would just watch a movie in that language.every place has local genres, nobody ever listens to that, even though you could get to hear a different language and the music that grew around it organically, not just a copy paste of the things you've already been hearing all your life.
>>131818846what a country!
Randomly listened to this a few years ago 'cause the cover art was intriguing, thought it was good but not great (pop in general is not really my thing) but I quite liked the whole folksy fairytale vibe. Maybe it's just my impression as a foreigner but russian media seems to take a lot from folk tales, why is that and what are some other albums with a similar aesthetic?
>>131817502morgenshtern its a classic actually
>>131822289>top tier classical music.>good dance music.>dogshit metal.Mostly agree.
