It's just a really smooth conventional rock album with a little bit of crazy avant-garde fringe, some trumpets, great singing and interesting politics.

Also they’re just too cool and trendy now, at least Geese feels somewhat emotionally authentic (the music that is, not the marketing).
Geese is based because they helped finally put an end to Windmillslop that was so prevalent from the late 2010s to the early 2020s, and I hated that shit long before Greep got cancelled

The windmill is a grotty little pub in south London where tiny local bands with minimal exposure can play. Tickets are cheap and most of the artists are crap. Occasionally you’ll have some bands that manage to break out and find some success (BM, BCNR, Shame, FWF, etc.). But ultimately it’s just a minuscule local scene for kids to hone their craft, and there’s nothing wrong with that, in fact the reason why there is no good rock music anymore is precisely because these kinds of scenes have basically gone extinct
