I think it's harder to be like "that" when you're in a band, because you have to have at least *some* socialization to work with other people and coordinate shows and whatnot, so the one man projects are where you're gonna find the most misanthropy, seclusion, emotional suffering, and all that good angsty stuff.

I was thinking more about the more modern black metal bands like Blut Aus Nord, Leviathan, Panopticon, Mgla, Yellow Eyes, Thantifaxath, Ungfell, Aara, Akhlys, Conifère, Deathspell Omega, etc. God damn, I could go on and on writing this list. Black metal has just become a behemoth of experimentation (which is kinda ironic since this was the genre that was supposed to be the least adventurous of them all).

Most of that was closer to thrash so I could enjoy it more.I figured if I didn't like the foundations (the early 90's norway scene) I wouldn't like the rest.
