How do we feel about Thrice?
Do you like all of their albums? Only their Post-Hardcore stuff? How is their entire output? Let's discuss some Thrice.

One of the greatest bands of their generation and they're essential listening for the genre that they've boldly been marching beyond for 20 something years. More bands should use them as a template to grow and change while somehow still sounding like themselves and not getting lost in the process.

My tastes have changed a lot since i discovered thrice, but i still think they're an awesome band. Illusion of Safety is one of my favourite albums ever.

I agree, albeit I think that To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere and Palms went a little too close to sounding like Radio Rock.

They're not two of my favorites. I like them, solid 7/10 albums, but I don't randomly put them on. The standouts are the more somber ones on there for sure. I would have liked something more like Major/Minor but I have no real gripes with their discography. They're phenomenal and foundational and deserve more love as a whole.

That is true, when it comes to 2000s Post-Hardcore, it's either Thrice or Thursday who left the biggest mark, I do think that Thrice progressed as a band in far more interesting ways, not to say modern Thursday albums are band, but Vheissu seems far more accomplished to me than City By The Light Divided.

It's a tough call. I adore both of these bands and love every album they did. I'd give Thursday the edge just because of how huge they were for me at the time. They're still one of my top 5, Thrice as well, but hearing Full Collapse was a watershed moment for me. That's just personal taste though. I'd throw Brand New in the ring to round out top 3 most influential of that generation of emo/post-hardcore. It seemed like every band was striving to make their own Full Collapse/Vheissu/TDAG. It was an amazing time for music and i think all three of those bands have albums that have aged like fine wine

They're quite bland.

They're really not

Their latest output is shockingly good. Horizons/East is excellent.

It do be like that

They quickly evolved beyond post-hardcore. Which is good for them, but already by Vheissu I was starting to lose interest.

I do think that the Hardcore element never left them, it's still there audibly amongst other stuff.

I kind of know what you mean. Maybe it's more the NWOBHM stylings that they ditched. I miss their more chaotic, adolescent sound. Sure, they're more "mature" now, but it's not very interesting to me (since I'm a punk kid at heart). And it's a shame they seem so down on IOS, given they chose to re-record Artist and seem to play more Identity Crisis songs live.

Someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean they're seething

It could be worse, there are many bands like these who just abbandon all of their origins.
Jimmy Eat World became just a generic Rock band for example.

Was good until he started sounding like Dave Grohl.

You need to get your hearing checked
