Why don't Americans "get" electronic dance music like Europeans do? is it because dance (house, electro, techno) is the ultimate modern white man's music?I know there are Americans who like it but its just not as much a part of their culture like it is in Europe.
>>131889697Because it's crapt. european
>>131889697>is it because dance (house, electro, techno) is the ultimate modern white man's music?Nigger, all those styles of music were originated by black producers.
>>131889697EDM is the perfect plastic, soulless socdem music.
Boring, low IQ music.
>>131889697why do you say that? Madonna basically normalized EDM in pop music.
>>131889697As an American it pains me to say it, but Europeans generally have better taste in pretty much everything.
>>131889697Electronic music like EDM is fake hype-up moments and artificial happiness. It feels way too forced and I could see that being why it was successful in Europe
>>131889697eurotards aren't superior
>>131889697I couldn't tell you. I have had my brains fried from too many warehouse and cornfield raves in the post-industrial Midwest. I asked some younger folk, but they were getting late to a clandestine "free party" under a disused pylon and had no time to entertain my query. But I guess it is pretty generous of DJs in Detroit and Chicago to gift this kind of music to the continent of Europe. They must have been true Aryan supermen to be innovative and altruistic to this degree.
>>131889697I think electronic music is the lowest form of music, it's devoid of genuine history or humanity, rootless like a JewEven with rap you can trace its development back through disco, funk, soul, blues, and gospel to the dawn of recorded music
>>131892355the US music industry and critics kind of tolerated rap as they could fit it into the rockist paradigm but EDM was neither fish nor fowl
>>131889697where did the original electronic music come frompeople like stockhausen who then influenced kraftwerk and other people like tangerine dream and people like giorgio moroderit's european in origin practically
>>131892095yup. https://youtu.be/EanuiNxcVHk
>>131892399serious case of not-invented-here syndrome
>>131890079fpbp. Just like rap it doesn't involve real instruments and thus has appeal to me.
Modern man's music? The focused repetition in techno/edm and its connection to the dionysian dance calls back to the most ancient musical traditions. The modern man is drawn to this music because he still longs to take part in that ancient dance.
>>131889697I think the only reason it's even popular in Europe (specifically Central and Eastern Europe) is because Central and Eastern European cities are completely soulless and depressing, so the loud, bombastic hype music provide a level of escapism, whereas to Americans it just sounds obnoxious
>>131892696Not to mention they failed to develop their own musical legacies during the 20th century due to communism and/or dictatorships, so they just latched onto electronic instead
>>131892667It's not just Dionysian tho. Trve techno enjoyers are in it for the A S C E N S I O N. It's a genuinely spiritual thing.
>>131891861Thats a funny fucking joke if I ever heard one. Metal is probably the sole exception to that rule.
>>131889697Not music.>>131890079Fpbp
>>131892946You're right, if Americans are known for anything, it's their cultural sophistication and refined taste in art.Literally lol
They don't even make albums and expect you to know all the singles somehow. And don't get me started on all the "different genres" that are just oontsu katsu oontsu katsu
>>131892696Managing to sound obnoxious to an American is quite a feat.
the ruling class really really really really really really really does not want us listening to it for some reason. there's just something about it that makes linkedin asset stripper binance guys froth at the mouth. if you ever see one of those stupid tiktokky nazi hyperborea edits for something and it's not right wing and they use non-edm music or some kind of half assed mashup of a rap song and alice deejay it was probably made by a federal agent
>>131892914It was spiritual back in the day too wasn't it? I'd say that the advent of famous european composers and the written piece prompted a shift away from music as a form of transcendent experience into a vehicle for individual exceptionalism and idolatry and this shift is still borne out in the culture today.
>>131893019>It was spiritual back in the day too wasn't it? For sure >... prompted a shift away from music as a form of transcendent experience into a vehicle for individual exceptionalism and idolatry and this shift is still borne out in the culture todayYes. But even more than that, I'd say it reinforced music as a force for drama.
>>131889697Electronic music is good-looking white people music and rarely has a 70 iq gangsta giganigga rapping about his dick or drugs, nor does it have a 60 year old boomer singing about sex drugs and rocknroll so grandpa gets nostalgic about the good ol days where it was their time to annoy their parents, so it's not cool.
>>131890079this and we're fat and lazy
>>131889697The jews already spent billions pushing hip hop on the masses. Why push electronic music
>>131889697it's for gays and druggies
>>131893960mentally ill gay druggies make the best music
>>131889697It's for fags and women, so you're right, americans should love it.
People all around the world like various genres of music. Everyone is different
>>131892355Rap is literally electronic music you dunce.
