The curtain illuminated in soft green glowing light, fluttered gently, casting shifting shapes on the turquoise wall. He sat there for a long time. Thinking of nothing. His mind still and empty, except for a dull somberness. That was as if from another life. And the wind through the leafless trees, a dull whine, the sparse rain... It was cold for the season. He was wearing a wool cardigan, red chordaroy slacks and black work boots. He grabbed his Squire Bronco bass, cardigan sparking with static in the dimly lit room. He felt nothing. Not love, hate, sadness or even primal lust. He only had a feeling, a knowingness that he had an obligation to punk rock. And a creeping sense that he wasn't carrying his weight. He stepped to his mirror with the Bronco... And for the first time in years he saw himself. He took a tincture of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms and slicked back his hair. He took the tram to the discotheque that reluctantly gave him a set. He walked in and somberly told the bartender he was there for the open mic. "Where's the rest of the band?". He simply looked down. He took out his Sr-17 drum machine, and plugged it into the soundboard. He plugged his Squire Bronco into his Fender Frontman 15g and placed Akg 414 in front of it. He turned. The sparse crowd watching, bemused. He started a low thumping rhythm. The Sr-17 a simple back beat groove. He began an oratory on the effects of death and abstract algebra. And the crowd looked uncomfortable. A fierceness overcame him and he began his set. A mix of Britney Spears songs and Jethro Tull. The crowd listened silently. And he knew by looking in their eyes, that he was right. That he had won.

just moisturize and don't press too hard its fine once you have proper technique there isn't actually a whole lot of wear on the skin.
If your setup is proper you should be able to fret with just the weight of your finger no actual pressing required.
>>
>>131917159
Damn thats cool i dont have one but could you technically use a strat and run an eq pedal after it and filter out those frequencies and get really close?

Yeah that’d get pretty close I’d imagine especially with the right EQ. Jaguar pickups are basically just hotter Strat pickups

>>131918128
Best is subjective. It’s all preference. Of the big three (Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang):
>The JM is the same scale length as Strats and Teles so they feel the closest to the Fenders you’re probably used to, and they sound like fatter Strats. The JM neck pickup is probably my single favorite Fender neck pickup sound
>The Jag was Fender’s primo top of the line guitar when it came out and is a very well thought out guitar if you can get past its quirks. It’s a shorter scale guitar but also the heaviest of the three. Short scale is a turn off for some people but realistically it’s identical to playing a regular scale Fender with a capo on the first fret. Very bright pickups, very ice picky if you don’t dial your gear in for it. I’d argue it’s Fender’s most versatile guitar as far as sounds go, the neck is very Strat like and the bridge is very Tele like with the tone rolled back a bit
>The JM and the Jag both have Fender’s best vibrato unit hands down, it can be a pain to learn how to set up (plenty of videos showing how, it’s easier now than it’s ever been to dial these guitars in) but once dialed in it’s incredibly stable and smooth. You can divebomb and return to zero nearly as well as on a Floyd. They’re great. Both also have the rhythm circuit with is basically just a neck pickup only mode that is very bassy, lots of people just never use it but there are some neat sounds to get out of it
>The Mustang is another short scale like the Jag and is the lightest of the three. Their pickups are basically just Strat pickups with flat pole pieces under plastic covers. They are lower output pickups. Their vibrato units are even more of a pain to set up and are even more finicky, but once dialed in they’re great.
I’ve owned all three, currently don’t have a JM but I’ve got the other two. Again it’s all preference. They all have their pros and cons and they all have their quirks, some more than others.

you want some too tough guy? I can beat all you guys off at the same time
>>
>>131918540
>you can divebomb and return to zero nearly as well as on a Floyd.
aaaaaaalmost
I can get 2.5 steps down with a JM trem (I know some aftermarket ones give more range) but I can do 5 steps on my floyd before the string gets so slack it completely buzzes out on the frets
no trem has better tuning stability than anything with a locking nut
the JM trem imo is nice because it is less sensitive than a floyd, meaning you can do much more subtle vibrato with less effort (surf twang on a floyd sucks to do)
>>

The GP-5 supports internal IR loading only in conjunction with its built-in factory amp sims. If you want to use custom NAM profiles, then it’s automatically turned off, so this limits you to using full rig captures only (amp+cab). With an external IR loader you can use amp-only NAM profiles and whatever IR you choose, which is more flexible.

NewAnon here from last thread. Completely new to music and know nothing.
Back from the guitar store. I didnt really want to commit to the purchase yet, wanted to think about it more but it happened. The guy pointed me towards getting an acoustic instead of electric. My worries about sound were put to rest when I saw how quietly you can play. So yeah I think I think it was the right choice.
He is heavily pushing for lessons to get me started and has my number. Idk, maybe it would be a good idea to just get a few starter lessons and then continue online after.
I like the guitar, it has a built in tuner and can also connect to an amp despite being an acoustic.

>>
>>131923321
yeah I'll bet he said that. a stratocaster clone is easy to set up and you should learn how to set up a guitar yourself. that's really the only downside to a beginner buying a $50 strat clone.
>>
>>131923271
IMO you should get lessons if you are completely new. I've been taking lessons after not playing for many years and it has helped me keep from building bad habits. It is very difficult to unlearn bad habits so it is best to start off strong.
>>
>>131923321

>>
>>131923321
he’s right. anything under $500 is throwaway scrap you get for people that aren’t sure if they’ll be playing in a month. you should definitely start lessons like the other guy suggested but I would tell your instructor you want to start learning songs right away and have him break down a song you really like into manageable chunks for a beginner, and build your techniques through practical application. if he can’t do that for you he’s not a good teacher.
