what is it's legacy today? Will there ever be another website like it?
a lot of post-African repetitions
>>132011028Is this a bot?
>>132009407influenced how tumblr tards typed, which in turn influenced modern day academic writing and journalism. "bro" as an analytical abstraction. once you notice this it becomes even more annoying. independent websites and blogs as we knew them back in 2008 no longer exist and we're about 3-5 years from a full shutdown of the internet
>>132009407>what is it's legacy today? zero legacy>Will there ever be another website like it?who carles?
i dont have the image anymore but he pretty much predicted p4k going full negrophillia and dropping the white mans indie after giving kanye that 10

>>132015569Do you have the whole article to read?
>>132009407I was wondering if this was the blog that reviewed Take Care and was calling Drake stuff like "the human croissant" and "Young Playtex," but nah, it was a different blog.
>>132016140You can find it on internet archive
>>132016140It’s on the internet archive. So you want to read what the legacy of HipsterRunOff is? Probably I’ll write that it was the last fun before the PC dystopian depressing shitshow we have now. Culture, especially music culture is dead.
>>132009407>Hipster RunoffNow there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Street Carnage is another one.
bump
>>132015569I'm more interested in that Death Of White Man's Indie articlealso fuck Payolafork, literally jew-founded
>>132022366>literally jew-foundedand jew run, that's why it sucked so much. i was making a list of landfill indie bands and was scanning though some of their year end lists and it was mostly jews writing the reviews
Has anyone here read Carles book? Dont know how to feel about it
>>132022786Jews shouldn't have jobs
>>132017041Well its not really dead you're just too lazy to look, very typical of your generation, wants everything handed to him through ChatGPT algorithms.
>>132023869>you're just too lazy to looki live in a college town with a famous venue and when you walk inside there are pictures of all the famous indie musicians and bands who have played there in the last 40 years or so who were on the verge of worldwide fame. they operate mostly as a small bar now because there aren't any bands touring that have that kind of following anymore. you can walk in and see pics of everything from gen x listening to soundgarden in 1991 to millennials watching the white stripes in 2003 to swans playing their reunion tour in 2012. after about 2013 there are no more pics yet the venue is still open and acts can still book shows. there just are no gen z bands popular enough or big enough to tour nationally because music culture is dead. you're old and out of touch or delusional, take your pick
>>132024758well said
>>132024758>I live in a college townThere's your problem
>>132024993No independent thoughts of your own huh? Always gotta piggyback off the opinions of someone else.
>>132025908>old out of touch copethat's funny, i just described how for 40 years it wasn't a problem until the music culture baton got handed over to gen z. why didn't you want to address that?
>>132025908Dumbass post, college towns full of young people are where music should be pumping on all eight cylinders, youth culture simply doesn't involve music anymore or even leaving the house. Young people don't dream about becoming musicians anymore, now instead they isolate themselves in their bedrooms streaming video games. This is part of the reason why most of Gen Z men have never had sex or a girlfriend.
>>1320247582013 was right around the time Spotify started taking off in the US and broader music culture started being replaced by personalized algorithms. The experience of getting into a "buzz band" right before they make it big was reliant on a monoculture that no longer exists. It's not really zoomers' fault or anyone's in particular, it's just technology changing society and how we interact with media.
