They will chug and only chug, and the focus is purely on the chugs with absolutely no flair. It's essentially one of the least creative and interesting genres out there, and that's just musically let alone when you get into the aesthetics etc which can be easily considered cringe. Look at something like Slaughter To Prevail where it's just vocal/drum gimmicks leading into some elongated breakdown section and that's all the songs do.For the record I do enjoy quite a bit of coreshit, but I think I'm very much in the minority for that, and I need the coreshit to avoid those trappings. E.g. I hate The Acacia Strain as every song feels like a medium-tempo breakdown riff that then leads into a slow-tempo breakdown - and thats the only songwriting avenue they know and repeat to death.
