I see you all are intimidated by my obvious superiority
>>
>>2061283
I had a v50 special and a pks, they actually are shit. Aesthetics are great but anything else is a horrorshow.
You literally cant do 15km without some problems.
>>
>>2061283
Superior to what, exactly? Little Suzy's tricycle?
>>
>>2061292
> You literally cant do 15km without some problems.
You got a 50cc, what did you expect? 125/150cc is meant for driving around in your own city or any roads that are not highways. 300cc if you need to go on highways for some reason
>>
>>2061297
Superior to bicycles, electric scooters, and motorcycles
>>
>>2061307
>Superior to bicycles
People who use bikes are either poor as fuck or doing it for sport, your shitty vespa fits into neither category. It's too expensive and easy to steal for a hobo to own, and they don't provide any exercise, which is why I only ever see fat men riding them.
>superior to electric scooters
Not really, because you can't fold your shit up and store it inside your tiny shitty apartment like scooter owners do. Even if Vespas were superior to electric scooters, that's not much to brag about.
>superior to motorcycles
Not at all, Vespas are inferior in every single way except gas mileage, which is never an issue for motorcycles anyway. Motorcycles are more easily seen by other drivers, give the rider more protection, accelerate faster, have higher top speeds, have more cargo space, and women like them a lot more than fucking Vespas.
For the record, I drive a Porsche Cayenne and I own 1 bicycle for sport/exercise/fun. I don't even own a motorcycle, but you're full of shit if you think your pathetic little Vespa is better in any way.
>>
>>2061283
i actually really wanted one of these when i was a kid. but then i got into russian motorcycles. then my interest in motorcycles waned until i got a shitty e-bike, and now i want the jankiest homemade e-bike that still goes 40kmh

already waiting for some stuff to come in to put a second hub motor on the shitty one i have now, slaved to the first. my spare ALL NATTY mtb will not be natty for long either, as soon as i have more tools and space I'm bolting a lawnmower engine and dryer motor to it to make the world's shittiest hybrid

>>2061324
electric scooters are gay, who the fuck wants to commute standing up

OK I'm sold

it's too late, italians already got you
>>
can you drift on a vespa

i would buy one if i can throw sparks from the shitty undercarriage negative banking that shit
>>
>>2061370
No. You can skid a bit if you really try, but you're not drifting on a Vespa
>>
>>2061370
>>2061371
I think you actually could using the same technique for drifting motorcycles, start by initiating a skid with the rear brake, position the rear so it's moving sideways, then crank the throttle. The initial skid breaks the traction so when the throttle goes on it doesn't need to fight the tire's traction. Vespas have automatic clutches though so I'm honestly not exactly sure if it'd work the same

I'm going to get a Primavera 125cc. Now my only decision is do I buy one of the many used ones, or just buy new. The used ones don't save much money unless there's serious problems with them.
>>
I know a fat chick who got one of these and she si very proud of herself
>>
>>2062638
This is the one
>>
>>2062645
well they're not really made for americans. this should be a european thread
>>
>>2062645
>>2062647
It makes no sense to drive them in America because America is made with long distances between things and lots of parking. Vespas solve the problem of intracity travel with little parking
>>
>>2062638
>>2062646
Have you considered a Honda 125 scooter anon? You're probably from europe and let me say, my gf has a Primavera 50, sure the 125 has more power but whatever.
I tested the Honda PCX 125 and it was worlds better in every department.
The vespa only took the looks and slightly smaller statue but thats it.
Vespas are slightly overpriced compared to the competitors.
>>
>>2062654
Well I just walked around my city (Bergamo, Italy) and looked at what people were using. I was actually expecting to see more Hondas and other Japanese vehicles, but out of 20 scooters I counted, 17 were Vespas, 2 were Hondas, and 1 was a nondescript Japanese looking bike. Honestly the Japanese bikes look more like toned down motorcycles.
>>
>>2062662
Thats weird. I was a few times in Arco and the most scooters i saw were Hondas. Well i guess it honestly dont matter that much. Just get what you find more appealing. Why not the Vespa GTS 125? Got more Hp and looks a bit more grown up.
>>
Vespas are a vanity item in my thirdie south american country
Hondas, however, are as common as grass, although the most common of all is the CG 150 and such traditional city motorcycles, scooters are also very common, specially with woman. The lowest of them is the Biz 125 and its copies, however Honda also offer the PCX which is almost a premium bike compared to a Vespa or Biz. The true GOAT however is the Burgman, true scooter supremacy

Can you please explain what you mean that a GTS looks more grown up than a Primavera?
>>
>>2062798
>>2062654
>Hondas
I've been looking at what Honda offers, just so I don't leave any stone unturned and make sure I'd really be making the right choice getting a Vespa. I looked up that nationally in Italy for *new* registrations, Hondas outpace Vespas by a ton. In fact, Vespa isn't even Piaggio's most popular vehicle for new registrations, the Liberty is. However in Bergamo I can confirm that 80% of what I see on the road is Vespas. That being said, most Hondas and the Liberty don't appeal to me because 1. I prefer a low wheel, not a high wheel, and 2. a lot of high wheels look like toned down motorcycles, which don't appeal to me. If I wanted a motorcycle I would do that instead. That being said, if I did go with a Honda, I found the Honda I like most, a Super Club (pictured). (Though to be honest, I like it most because it most looks like a low wheel vespa.)
>>
>>2062718
>>2062808
I also decided that if the GTS had more underseat storage then I might be willing to go with it, but surprisingly it has less storage than a primavera
>>
with Super Cup you can go anywhere you want!
>>
>>2062815
Super Club is a 125cc just like a Vespa 125cc so they go the same places.
>>
>>2062816
I'm only using it for intracity travel anyway so major highway travel is pointless for me.
>>
>>2062809
vespas are overpriced because brand and honda "cub" bikes are overpriced because of boomer nostalgia. just get any similar moped and it will cost 1/10th as much and probably be 90% rebadged honda parts anyway

it's sorta like how civics got a reputation as cheap cars and now because everyone wants one they're no longer cheap
>>
>>2062837
why would honda cubs appeal to boomers?
>>
>>2062837
Vespas are ~5k and Hondas are ~4k. Idk why you guys are pushing Hondas like they're 10 cents or something. It's not a huge difference.
>>
Most Honda scooters look to me like Axe body spray if it were a scooter.
>>
>>2062839
nostalgia. i already told you that.
they used to be super cheap and are actually pretty ideal for their >USE CASE so everyone and their mom (who wasn't a larping harley owner) had one.

speaking of harleys, that's the same story: it started off as cheap milsurp bikes, they found a market, and now they charge what the market will bear now that their clientele are all rich boomers, poor boomers who do not fear debt, and cocaine magnates
>>
Are scooters for poor people? I'm reading a lot of reviews where people call Vespas "expensive". Like bro if you think 5-6k is a lot of money then maybe you should get a job lol.
>>
>>2062862
They're slow, noisy, and have the mileage of an SUV. For the price of a vespa you can get a real motorcycle that goes faster and gets better mileage. So yes, objectively, it is EXPENSIVE.

Also if you've met any people with real wealth you know that they complain like little bitches about getting their money's worth on the most trivial cheap things while not applying that same logic to stuff that regular people can't afford. It's how they try to look relatable, not all of them do it but it's a recurring pattern and the funny thing is all it does is make people cringe. So all you're telling us is that you didn't grow up around money, and you probably don't have much now either.
>>
>>2062862
You can buy an entire fucking car for 6k (used thoughbeit) so yeah it's comparatively expensive.
>>
>>2062863
>They're slow,
fair
>noisy,
I've been strongly considering getting an electric vespa (much quieter). Any thoughts? They have ones that go 40 km/hr and ones that go 75 km/hr. They are pricier though. I was comfortable spending up to 6k euros for Vespa + all gear (including trunk with seatback, helmet) but the 75 km/hr with all that would be about 8k euros, and charging it would be inconvenient since where I plan to park it at night doesn't have a charger, though I could put it somewhere else that does, or maybe rig something up.
>and have the mileage of an SUV.
Do you mean miles per gallon? Or engine lifetime in miles?
>For the price of a vespa you can get a real motorcycle that goes faster and gets better mileage.
I literally don't want a motorcycle though, or anything that looks like a motorcycle.
>So yes, objectively, it is EXPENSIVE.

Agreed
>So all you're telling us is that you didn't grow up around money, and you probably don't have much now either.
Yeah I guess, I just have money allocated for something like this.

>>2062865
>You can buy an entire fucking car for 6k (used thoughbeit) so yeah it's comparatively expensive.
Sure but that kind of car is going to need a lot more maintenance. Also, if I'm going to buy something like that then I really hope a previous owner didn't smoke cigarettes in it because I am really sensitive to that.
>>
>>2062862
they're called expensive because you can get a decent one for less than half the price.
>>
>>2062869
*decent scooter from another manufacturer
>>
>>2062870
>>2062869
Yes but almost all other scooters look like Axe body spray personified
>>
>>2062871
same is true of all the jap motorcycles and everyone else copying them.
>>
>>2062869
>>2062870
Although the modern lambrettas do look nice, but in the end they're just poor man's vespas. if I'm getting something that looks like a vespa, I'll just get a vespa
>>
OK I changed my mind. I'll get a GTS after all
>>
>>2062912
Nice choice anon. Swap the mirrors with barend mirrors for a sportier look..
Let us know how you like it, topspeed, mileage,... im interested because i plan to get a 125cc scooter this year too.
Dont like generic reviewers on youtube and trust anons on here way more.
>>
>>2062868
>Sure but that kind of car is going to need a lot more maintenance.
lil bro doesnt own a spanner or CVD machine
