Its actually a nice light and air boulevard if youve been there.
>they took houses
In baltimore, that means nothing of value was lost. If all highways weren't for suburban raiders, it would be an improvement.

Picrel really feels like a cyclopedian cathedral. Thats all elevated highway in the middle of nowhere. Ive driven all over the country, I cant think of something more padded.

new jersey in general is a fucking mess and they like it that way because they are all retards

reminder that this is the place where you're not allowed to pump your own gas and everyone freaked the fuck out saying places would explode and it'd become a superfund site from spills if they got rid of gas station wageslaves who just pump gas for you
>>
>>2074441
I dunno man personally I'd rather let some underpaid schmuck get the cancer, it's a make-work program for people who otherwise would be engaged in "private sanitation" or some other mafia shit that kills a civilian about every 10 days but there's nothing we can do, it was an accident they just came outta nowhere!

Cities being for the people that live there, not for the people that are passing through, is the definition of not retarded.....

Northeast more beltway. Say whatever you want about "the mixing bowl" but the can at least pretend its justified cause of the traffic. No such case here.

keep in mind that retardo bong larper "urbanist" Evan Ediger is literally the way that he is because he grew up in NJ.

honourable mention to NJB who grew up in suburban Onterrible, which is almost as bad as NJ

I don't know, if that was true there wouldn't be any issues with "no, you [people who actually live and work in this neighborhood] don't NEED your parking lane/extra lane on the road, it should be a bicycle lane so I can use it for my hobby"

shaddup faggots this is for such bad roadwork even cagies hate it, not NJB Nonsense

for example this rare Montreal L, the turcotte interchange which nobody likes, people get lost on it all the time, sometimes people go flying off it because the actual civil engineering of it is really bad, and doesn't take you to or from anywhere anyone wants to use the highway for, but is pretty much necessary to go through if you want to use the highway at all
>>
>>2076740
Looks like a regular interchange to me, just missing a ramp from 15 east to 136 north
>>
>>2076747
it's not the worst interchange in the world but it's confusing and bottleneck-y enough compared to the stuff around it that you see a lot of people getting off the highway early and bypassing it on surface streets because it's just frustrating
>>
>>2076737
>"hobby"
>confusing "cyclists" with "commuters"
Total classic. And skipping the heart of the issue (making everyone pay for your car storage): chefs kiss.

>>2076740
>"even cagies"
Sounds like commies getting some over due punishment. If only it didn't cost everyone a trillion dollars.

>>2076747

Sadly, yes, in this mad mad mad world.

>Hmm maybe they're not that bad
>>

They collect money for these disasters wherever you live, they are federal projects. They've been playing tonka truck trying to bury bostons highway for decades. Last in heard it was 40 billion, cause these idiots cant understand the densest living space cant have a couple hundred foot wide highway in it....and some poor fuck a continent width away has given a penny to it.
>>
>>2076790
Yeah that's how federal funding does indeed work. The Big Dig was wrapped up almost 20 years ago too
>>
>>2076791
>just cheerleads theft from the public for things they will never use
Incredible.
>>
>>2076794
I'm not cheerleading it, that's how it works. The government takes some of my money and spends it on god knows what. I'd prefer them spending it on highways rather than foreign aid

Anyway the interchange in question >>2076740 is in Montreal
>>
>>2076803
>jerkoff highway
>foreign aid
Why do we have to have both? How does bullshit infrastructure not still cost you more?
>>

why does it seem like anglophone countries are uniquely bad when it comes to urban planning?

Industrialization-era approach to planning. The car was new and exciting, and EVERYTHING was made of basically standard parts that had to be able to be assembled by relative retards. even in "old" cities that "didn't get bulldozed for the car" shit still got bulldozed to be replaced with more modern stuff at least and that means shitty tract housing for poors around samey (but now quaint) courtyards, arranged to form ghettoes near centers of productivity but still at least annoying to leave to go bother the rich

Are these threads literally just third worlders seething at cities/towns they'll never visit entirely on the basis of satellite images and aerial photographs? Starting to suspect they are. I think most people would rather live there than pic related.
>>
>>2077622
i made this thread and wanted it to be about genuinely awful decisions on traffic management

but i guess everyone is an NJB watcher and as much as they see that LE STROAD`S are bad can't even identify why 5-way intersections are bad
