Are there some actually decent brands of bags/sacks for the trekking bike? I'm thinking of getting a casual side sacks for the rear for groceries while leaving top of the trunk free for attach whatever I end up needing to transport and attach with those rubber straps(I got the TUBUS brand, seems pretty solid).
Generally I want it for commuting, grocery runs and weekend trekking. Thievery seems to not be so rampart over here(people are locking their e-bikes with cable locks ffs), but I'm going to be fairly paranoid anyway, so I doubt I will be leaving it by the gym for over a hour or so(which is shame, because parking is sometimes an issue)

This is really fucking stupid, but I need to ask.

Started riding my road bike for work commutes recently. Haven't really cycled in the past 4 years, but it's gotten really fucking uncomfortable. It feels like the seat is digging into my bones now and it's not like my weight has changed significantly over the years, my ass is arguably bigger now due to more glute focused gym work.

I used to be able to ride on it for hours without issue, but now a 30 minute cycle painful. I don't think my riding ergonomics have changed that much, so I suppose it's the seat, but I have no idea how/why it's gotten so hard over the years.

Is this a sign I should just get a new seat?

give yourself a while to re-adapt. saddles are comfortable when your core is strong, your balance and flexibility are excellent, and you are putting down smooth power. if your commute involves a lot of starts/stops and lower power output to avoid sweating, a more relaxed riding position might help. If you've been comfortable on that saddle before you probably should stick with it or find something similar. these things aren't chairs; they work differently when you're trying to sit on them rather than using them as a balance point to control pedaling and maneuvering forces.

I have a shitty backpack I don't like. I have a lot of cotton webbing and tried to rig a duty belt; didn't like that either. Stuff slips around, no matter how tight you cinch it. My usual thing is a messenger bag, and stuff fits, but it takes up more space than I'd like in what should be spare storage.

I'll admit I've been lazy and have some modern plastic .50 ammo cans I've been meaning to mount, but I still prefer to have stuff like tools on my person because it's too easy to either not bike for a day but still need a wrench, or bike in and not be wearing the usual bag because it's too big or too small. I use a fishing vest for bikepacking and during colder rides. Fanny packs are good too. Consider also getting a removable handlebar bag if you don't like have it on your person while you ride.

your saddle may need adjustment.
saddle height is the most significant key to overall fit. also, is it level? does the nose stick up or down more than the rear? how forward or aft in the clamp it is can be a factor but usually that's the last position I dial in since it's the least significant ime.
a different saddle could help. or hurt. sounds like you were ok with it before so maybe you will be again. the width compared with your sitbone width is the most significant factor, which is also dependent on your riding stance. this chart corresponds to this particular mfr. but you get the overall idea.
the real answer is you just have to try a bunch of saddles, unfortunately.

I was riding to work on Wednesday and was in the left lane about to make a left turn with nobody behind me when the guy coming toward me in the oncoming lane leaned on his horn as if I was breaking the law. I hadn't even started the turn or signaled for it yet, I was just in position to make it once I reached the junction.

The truth is, a lot of drivers simply don't know the traffic laws. They think we have to be on the shoulder, bike lane, or sidewalk. Seeing a cyclist near the yellow line is completely shocking to some people. There are even studies suggesting that cyclists understand and/or obey traffic laws better than drivers. Anecdotally I started city biking frequently two summers ago and up until that point hadn't even considered using the main lanes, much less presence in the left lane. Up to that point city biking was something I might do in the bike lane or on the sidewalk, and use pedestrian crosswalks for left crossings. Learned pretty quickly how wrong I was.

If i weigh 90-100kg, and ride in shitty broken roads and gravel is it safe to say that the minimum acceptable 28"/622 wheel in my case is one with 36 spokes? In order for the rim to withstand the punishment. Would a 32 spoke wheel be realistically viable? Or would be unreliable?

I'm about 90kg and I don't use special wheels. I do have a somewhat fancy front wheel on my fast bike, but it's 20 spoke 622. the rear is normal 32 spoke. my other bike is 630 wheelset 32 spoke. and they go offroad quite a bit.
it is important that the spokes are tensioned correctly and evenly, though. so check for loose(er) spokes and address that yourself or at a shop.

furthermore, I've only seen 622 referred to as "28" on tubes I buy from china. 622 is usually called 700c, or MTBers call it 29”

years ago when I bought my first road bike I bought a 58cm one since I'm 6' and that's what all the guides said to buy based on my height. I actually remember the guy where I bought it from telling me I should get it in a 56cm or smaller but didn't listen stupidly.

It's not uncomfortable to ride, but over time I adjusted the seat all the way forward as far as it could go as well as replaced the original 10cm stem with a 9cm one which has made it a far more comfortable ride for me.

Well I want to get a new bike now and I think I'm going to get a 54cm. Shouldn't be a problem right? Even if it was "too small" I could always just adjust the seat position backwards or get a slightly longer stem I guess right?

i can speak from direct experience that my " 29" " bso mtb tires do not fit on my 622 wheels, and in fact the 29 wheel with a tire on it does not fit in the wheelwell of my 622 bike. and even if it had slightly different geo so it did, the brakes would be in the wrong spot.

that said i did throw a 26" on it in a pinch and it's rode fine since. no brakes though, but it fits and the ride quality is actually slightly better, probably the slightly lower CoG and wide-ass 2" tires

HELP!
when i pedal backwards, there is this slight chain grinding click that seem to be coming from the top derailleur pulley, the chain doesn't seem to slide smoothly in the teeth but only clicks in late in the rev.
Is this normal? I only noticed it when i backpedalled with my hand in the quiteness of my house?
I also noticed that when i lifted the rear wheel and hand-pedalled forwared in third gear that there's this unsmooth chain grinding sound. Is it because of the offset of the chain between the 3rd gear and the single front chaingear?

1 you are crosschained and so the gears are being a little noisy
2. the derailleur needs a little bit of adjustment. learn how to use the barrel adjusters to fine-tune your shifting. if hat doesn't quite solve things you may also need to adjust the B-tension screw. avoid messing with the high/low limit atops.
3. your bottom-of-the-barrel chinesium drivetrain might just suck.
4. your derailleur hanger might be a tiny, tiny bit bent. you can have a bike shop check this.

modern cassettes and chains arent really made to be pedaled in reverse. Clicking is usually from the chain sliding into position on the sprockets every couple chain links. It's a non-issue if its only clicking while pedalling backwards.

this is completely normal and is due to how freewheels work. the clicking is probably the ratcheting mechanism and your derailleur might just be dirty or a little too tight. but it's normal for it to move around and go to full extension before the chain starts to move completely freely, and the derailleur going out might result in it going out of alignment slightly (it will be in proper alignment when pedalling forwards or not moving THOUGH)

For a while on my bike I had just one brake, and the other side's lever had a clutch. I got one of those dual-cable brake levers so I can have Two Independent Braking Systems As Per The Law and it just feels fucking gross. Braking performance is objectively really good, but it feels bad to use. Not emotionally, the physics going on are just nauseating. Maybe it is a little emotional but not because it's lazy, the physics going on just don't feel right when you're used to a normal bike brake setup where you choose which side of it is actually trying to stop.

How to arrange my controls so I can have two brake levers and a clutch lever on my handlebars and not have it feel even more gross? I already tried a three-lever setup and it was godawful and probably overtly unsafe
